Layered Light & False Ceiling

    Hi.

    Im just wondering what peoples opinions are of making a false ceiling to create layered light in, say, a sitting room.

    It looks like something that could be easy to do: Cut plasterboard, join to wall (how?) to suspend it. And then skim it so that it is smoothe. Then led light strips or other bulbs to produce light.

    Anyone know anyone who has done it? Any opinions on it? Is it only for huge rooms and high ceilings, or would it look ok in small rooms and lowish ceilings?

    Had a feature like this put into a room in my new build, ceilings throughout the ground floor were hung from the hollowcore and they just hung them higher up into the recess, with a return from the normal level of the surrounding ceiling.
    One thing I was advised of by my architect at the time was that the finish on the recess has to be as near perfect as can be as when lit up it will reveal any imperfections and intensify their appearance, so I left it to the pros, as I did every job to be honest.
    On an aside I have been looking around for the light strip to go into it and have come across these guys www.neonica.eu , has anyone any experience of their products/customer service?
