Continuation from motors chat round 3

1.This thread is for motoring topics which you feel are not worthy of starting a new thread for, banter from a meet or general motoring related chit chat.

2.No lonely hearts (This is not a personal dig at anyone, it's how we feel is the best way to describe what we want to avoid. )

    3.Keep it clean.

    4.The Motors charter applies.

Ah sure there's no lag because the turbos are so small, he may as well have to hair dryers blowing into the engine:D

(Alan you can make jokes like this when you have more power but we must bow to the 335i in fairness)

That sudden death thing? Mines slowing up the last few days. Checked and it's got the dodgy chip in it.

Yup. I was under the impression it was just S3's but obviously not. It's in FoneMenders now and will either get repaired or replaced and should be able to pick it up tomorrow.

I'll show you turbo lag when I put on the T25 on the XUD.... :pac:. With the K14 I can mash the pedal and when boost comes on it breaks traction :p

On the subject of phones, getting a new one today, will see how the pictures pan out now! :)

My Wife's S2 has been freezing the last few days. Had to take the battery out to get it to work. Is this a symptom?

On a motoring subject saw a fella in a 131 A4 estate (black) get his car washed today. In them car wash things at a filling station. I immediately thought of MM!

As much as I hate the phrase, taking the battery out is and isn't a symptom. For my phone re-insering the battery did nothing while for some other users on sites like XDA and Android Central it did fix it for a while.

What is it with people and yellow boxes?! seriously? Because I'm not stopped in the box doesn't mean it's space for you to cut in and block both lanes of traffic in the process.

I called the nct for a "priority" appointment last friday, still waiting for a text with one. Any other time I was only waiting a day or two. Anyone else getting delays? I know a couple of you got very quick ones this week.

    Looking for ballymun.

I meant the freezing, if it was a symptom.

Exact same here rang first on the 10th got a date of July 18th in galway centre which is madness(also went in the cancellation list), got no reply/text with booking number to check dates etc or reschedule so rang again on the 14th same thing again and left here with no reply or text since.

Absolute joke atleast if they would just text me my booking ID i could atleast be checking for dates in nearby centres, NCT is afew months out (my fault didn't get new wheels+tyres on car in time for visual retest)

Atm just left twiddling my thumbs, not good enough really

How come the NCT is so busy the last while? Its the same when I booked the test for the Mother, can't get a date till July no matter what centre I look at. Was there a strike or something as it was never like this before. Or is it this annual test that has messed it up?

You can check on the net with the date of first registration instead of a booking id, its in the log book, but theres nothing at all in ballymun, greenhills or drogheda!

If it's under warranty bring it straight back to the shop and demand a replacement as it's a well known issue. Although, the one I'm using is an insurance replacement for a water damaged one so was a pretty new build when I got it two months ago. Annoying that it's showing the symptoms. Might ring the insurance in the morning and link a few xda threads...

Only seen this advert just now although I see it has been around for months.
Wouldn't be known as the biggest car fan but that's a very impressive advert! Just seen it on the tv. I actually rewound and turned the volume up for a second go. :D

That's some list, make you wonder what the previous owner put her through. Glad you got her back all sorted :).

Anyone here have one of these flexible grab tools? Need a lend if one would be so kind. There's a spanner that fell down the body cavity in the rear of my car that I want to get out. I tried with a magnet but the spanner isn't very magnetic.

    DGT? :pac:

I know most of the parts were wear parts. Tbh I figured there was no point in doing it in bits and pieces which the mechanic did suggest. I decided just to get it all done together. I didn't plan on spending that kind of money on it but its going to see me through college so ill have it at least 3 more years so I might as well have it right. Still I only went over to the mechanic to get one track rod arm replaced :pac:
