Just found this beauty. The best colour, the best interior and the best engine :cool:

I may have looked at that ad about 1000 times at this stage.....today....;)

Issue for me is actually the colour though, that red was the flat red introduced at the time and does fade, really badly. Metallic 156 is the only way to go tbh.

Need's the bodykit and new wheels though. Just don't like that red....:o

I know the problems with that colour, it's actually no longer available on Alfas. But that car is well over 13 years old and still looks ok. What are you worrying about? It's an €800 car for feck sake :p

Paint looks well. May have just been compounded.

bulletproof car but not for this money 1300 nope,600-700 maybe

    Down to 1200...

Not the cheapest way to go but personally I wouldn't mind paying an extra few hundred if it's as clean as it looks and passes a good inspection particularly the front right steering and suspension.

I'd say the paint would be fine. Look at the amount of beading on it.
Owner has clearly kept it in tip top condition.
And anyway it's an alfa. Paint would be the least of my worries.

Something I'm looking for at the moment, only if it was closer to where I live. I'm trying to find a bangeronomics car for my first car that will last me about a year. First was thinking about about getting an A4 or a Leon but now decided to get something that will be cheaper to run.

My mind is set on either a fiesta or a polo (97-00) and have a budget of +/-1000, any opinions on these cars?

    Fiesta.
    Polo is a horrible car.

'tis strange that it's so dear. A 2.5 166 would cost me €1089 to insure with FBD... You would have to wonder why there is such a difference

You are right but if I'm driving a car with that engine in it I want it to look as good as it sounds....:D Don't like the lack of alloys or bodykit but that could be sorted I'd imagine.

With a flat red Alfa that's 13 years old paint would be one of my biggest worries...;)

If you really wanted a bangernomics Busso V6 156, you'd have bought that already. It's as good as it gets for the money. Do I hear somebody suggesting you're chickening out? ;)

I saw a fabulous green one a while back with 17's and full OEM for €800 which I'd have preferred over that one. I don't like the wheels, colour, lack of bodykit on that car either. There's also the issue of over €2k in insurance and €1k tax. I'm still in college...;)

Plus, I have my eye on something else already anyway...:D

Pricey, but if the mileage (70k) looks genuine it could be a nice buy.
    Long test - April 2014.

asking €1600, brand new NCT and a whisker of tax. Sounds like he'd take a close offer.
Dencent bit of recent work - Front pads and discs, Front and rear wheel bearings, Front shocks and ball joints, Front track arms and figure of 8s.

Nearly as tall an asking price as the height of that spoiler :p

You'd really need that to keep the car down to the ground while pushing 179km/h with the mad power from that 1.6 engine :pac:

*not my cup of tea obviously, but I know there are lots of fans of these cars (only?) in this country :)

Each to their own of course! :)
