Finally the contract has been signed and expected to be completed in 28 months. Great news and should have been done years ago. Those bends were so dangerous given the amount of crashes on them

There have been two himac machines working on the section of road getting it ready for the last few months,digging out ditches etc.So there is a very good chance that it will be built quickly,as all the houses that were in the way were knocked down years ago,and the high tension ESB wires were moved.:D

It was related work, they were clearing the site under a separate contract in anticipation of the PPP contract being signed

Good news for all commuters on that stretch of road. Just wondering if this is a ppp where will the payback come from? New property tax or toll booths? Hopefully the former.

This road scheme should have been built about a decade ago - but I suppose it's a case of better late than never.

This scheme will save lives as the Arklow - Rathnew section of the N11 is a notorious accident black spot.
