Did it let you use your billing address even though the country says UK?
I just used the Parcelmotel address for both and a Visa Debit card. Address is rarely ever used as part of authentication for any card (or certainly wasn't when I last worked with Chip&PIN and web payment devices).

Anyone who bought it for exactly £29: how much, in euro, was taken out of your account?

Used my home address for billing and PM for delivery.

€36.12. It will depend on which site you used, your method of payment, and which bank you're with.

I posted this in the other thread but in case anyone needs it. Use 36W3C as a promo code to get 10% off with Littlewoods. I ordered mine this morning and got a confirmation email straight away.

I've ordered from Littlewoods before so all my details were there and everything - handy. Had no problems with delivery last time either. Hopefully it will be shipped soon so I know one is on the way! Says it is being processed in the warehouse at the moment and the latest delivery date is 13th May.

Ordered from Littlewoods last night and got a confirmation email almost straight away.
Just checked the order tracking on their site and its due for delivery on May 10th, which is fine, as I'm in no hurry.
    Thanks op

I ordered from littlewoods, got order confirmation email and estimated delivery date of the 13th (it usually arrived a week before that at least). I have a credit account with littlewoods, logged in and checked status, "order being processed at warehouse" or whatever.

This means the order has been accepted and the package is being sorted for shipping, as far as I know.

I'd expect that to be changed to "order dispatched" at some stage today and then see "order sorted at hatfield" tomorrow and eventually "order sorted at fastways midlands hub" the fast ways hub being in Offaly, I'd then receive the package the day after that.

They say next business day, so if it arrives in their depot tomorrow then there's a good chance you'd have it Friday. They're run by Nightline who would be sending deliveries all over the island anyway and they seem to be pretty quick and reliable.

The only problem might be if they have a giant pile of Nooks to work their way through :)

My order with nook.com has gone from "Recieved" to "In progress", I was a little worried that the card wouldn't process because I could only put in a UK billing address, but it looks good so far.

Ok without me doing any research here....where can I download/buy nook books from?
I've recently been using my tablet as a e-reader and the other half has been impressed as my bedside table is book free these days. She "hinted" she could be book free too if I brought her something similar.
I'm not shelling out if I can help it but 40bucks (punned there :) ) I think I can stretch too if its the same as a kindle or alike for purchases

Got it from nook.com and have just received the dispatched notice. Charge on my card came in at €34.55.

Anyone know the best place to get a cover for this? eBay keeps returning results for the nook 2, anyone know if they're compatible?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 24,602 ✭✭✭✭Sleepy

Nook was being pushed by Barnes and Noble so presumably you could purchase books on their website. I'm sure there'll be a "store" app on the nook itself too.

The "american cousins" are usually useful for finding mobi / epub files too.

I think they're the same - I looked on eBay earlier and when you search for nook simple cover some of them say 2 and some don't and they look similar enough to me.

Littlewoods have the covers for 32EUR - eh, don't think I'll be paying that much for one!

A group buy on nook covers from china might be in order.

anyone who bought from blackwells using their irish address gotten anything else besides creit checking yet?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 8,534 ✭✭✭RedXIV

If it's the same size as a kindle you could get a decent cover in dealz or the €2 shop which have had these in before
