    And has the SVD arrived?

    Did indeed.

I'm enjoying it.Its well made and so easy to use.It does have that steam punk vibe to it and I like it but some obviously wont.Has to usual functions that most PV's (its not a mod) have these days;VV/VW,ohm reader, lock screen, battery reader etc.

It feels really solid and quite heavy to hold. The threads could be better, especially when it begins to tighten they become scratchy, which feels horrible to be honest.Going to get some anti-oxidant as its supposed to prolong their life and help with other thread issues.
If you dont tighten the SVD's telescopic tube tight enough it will rattle (only if you shake it) which is down to the threads and not the battery fit, which fits very snugly.

I've been using it most of the time with an AW IMR18490 as its a massive looking dong in 650 mode.If you own a vamo you wont actually mind as its only ever so slightly bigger (with an 18650) and of much better quality.:P

So really its only real drawback is its dong like appearance with an 18650.
I should mention its a nice comfortable size in 350 mode.

My big concern when upgrading from the eGo Twist was,was there going to be a noticeable difference and I can say without a doubt, yes there is.
Its not that the eGo isnt a good device, because it is,but with the SVD I can dial in the exact vape I want & its consistent. The VW or 'power mode' is handy especially if you're changing ohms a lot.Just means you can stick different clearos etc on it and not have to worry about adjusting the volts as it will do it for you.

I'm happy with it but if you don't want a big device its probably not for you.
I'll probably get the Sigelei Zmax Telescopic when ESI get it in but still hang onto to the SVD.

    GP Spheroid...........almost!

Had it in the cart and got as far as Paypal......then chickened out! More than I'd like to spend on an attie....

Just watched the review, looks interesting.

Yeah, they are great I'd say. Just too much on an attie for me though. They sell out immediately on release and they happened to come available when I was on the site. Suppose I could have bought it and sold it on too if it didn't work out....

spheriod review. think of the best dripper you've ever tasted but holds about 3ml and never leaks.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,305 ✭✭✭Green Hornet

Is it really that good? The reviews are great alright. It's the most I've spent on an individual vaping item ever although I suppose between 3 x Bulli's of various types, Clockworks RDA, numerous things like the A7, I've spent a fair bit......still, that's over 18 months or so I suppose so not too bad.

if it has an issue it's that its too good, so you won't need to buy anything else.

The spheroid never leaks? How does it manage that?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,305 ✭✭✭Green Hornet

Well the Bulli doesn't leak in cart mode either. The juice is soaked into the wool and the wicks are touching the wool.

OP, if you're up for a challenge/fiddle you should try building the IGO with some stainless steel mesh. Tastes absolutely unreal, and you can switch flavors immediately. I go from cinnamon to menthol with a quick dry burn and theres virtually no crossover.

Pure ss mesh or mesh wick combo?

Better be pure SS, fibre wicks are knackers for flavour-creep.

Pure SS, just angle it down to the side a little bit and it works amazingly. I actually posted that in the wrong thread, but oh well... Might as well leave it up!

Decisions, decisions. I need to pay for my new 14500 mod but I can't decide on the finish.

    Brass w/ SS lock ring?

    DSC_0359_zpsdf7263c6.jpg

Or SS w/ Brass lock ring?

    jm16.jpg

The Brass is €20 dearer which I don't mind but I already have a brass Chi You coming.

It does look nice though, I'd nearly buy the two... :p

    ***must not buy two!!!!***

Hmmmm.....if it works that's great but.....you might be better to cut the mesh on the diagonal and roll it 'straight'. It's completely flexible then and you'll be able to bend it right through 180 degrees without kinking. You'll be able to put it in more or less like silica wick in a nice U shape. Try it, it's really flexible and you'll be able to have a long tail just sitting in juice and put the wick/coil right in line with the airhole.

I tried that a few times, I always had problems with the wick kinking up but I never thought to cut it diagonally. I'll give it a shot as soon as ESI gets the igos back in stock and I have another one to play with :)

One benefit of the small wick is that as soon as you get a dry hit you know theres nothing left and you can just throw it in your pocket. Works handy enough if you're going out for a smoke break with others on the stinkies. About 6 drops lasts pretty much the same time as a smoke would, so you get that "know when its finished" sort of feel.

I'll definitely give your way a shot though, seems like a good way to do it. What did you mean about lining the coil up with the airhole though? Mine seems to line up well enough...

If you try this diagonal cutting thing please take a few pics during the build as sounds interesting but I've no idea what that means until I see it

I think he means something like this http://i.imgur.com/rVq3g8W.jpg

What he means is there is a grain in the steel mesh that prevents it bending without a kink in it.

Cutting diagonal through the grain will allow it to bend without getting one.

    No kink

    Very obvious kink

you'll be able to bend it right through 180 degrees without kinking.
