Tesco Mobile have announced new Pay Monthly plans.

Various options at €10 €20 and €30 per month.

In particular, the €30 plan looks great value.
    - 12 month Sim Only contract
    - 10,000 Any Network Minutes
    - 10,000 Any Network Texts-
    - 15GB data including tethering
    - Free Tesco Mobile calls and texts.

That's ridiculously good value, damn. Are Tesco Mobile using O2 network?

I would switch to Tesco today, but only for the fact that I like my free iPhone upgrade each year with O2 :(

Yeah, I'm a light user so the €10 plan looks ideal for me:

100 any network minutes, 100 any network texts, and 100MB data (just enough data to use when I'm away from WiFi).

    V nice.

Where do you see this offer? The link says its only 500 mins 500 texts for 30E

Thats the 30 day offer. The 12 month one further down offers more but ties you in for longer

    The very bottom.. as indicated:

EDIT: I may opt into the 12 month sim but do Tesco still piggyback on O2? My house is a black spot for coverage and I'm on O2 currently, so I'd be wary to opt into a contract like that unless I was sure coverage would be decent.

Tesco is on the o2 network. So much so when I power on my phone 02 intially comes up and then it switches label to Tesco.

Contract work both ways, if they change the price (without specifically stated it up front) then they have broken the terms and you are free to leave without penalty

If they were to change it you would have an opportunity to exit the contract penalty free. Can't see it happening though to be honest, they're not going to want to upset their customers.

Ugh I only joined 48 the other day. 3000 mins and 5000 texts plus 3GB of data for €20 a month, wish I had seen this, payed €60 to cover me for 3 months. How long will this Tesco offer be valid for?

Just be aware that as Tesco piggy back on the O2 network the data speed is capped at 2Mb. It's supposed to increase later in the year, but they did already push it back from early 2013...... Ref Here and Here

But having said that I'm with Tesco mobile PAYG and have found their data speed fairly ok. Just mentioning in case anyone moves over and notices the speed difference. :p

Hmmm...i might switch plans. i'm currently with Tesco on a sim only 30 day plan €16 month 200min, 200texts, 100mb data. I think i might switch to the €10 plan - 150min calls, 150 texts and 500mb data. The increased data would suit me better.

They are some cracking plans. Im with o2 and I keep holding out for new price plans. They have to be the only network not to have a decent plan offer. You will find something impressive on all the other networks at this stage.

The €30 deal seems very similar to emobile's €32 sim only deal. Which would be the better to go for? I'd imagine emobile?

International calls are dirt cheap on Tesco if that is a factor - landline calls to a lot of the world for just 1c/minute.

Although roaming looks cheaper on emobile.

Definitely gonna get on the €10 per month plan.

Way better value than Meteor's €20pm.

Actually, can anyone tell me what are the prices of calls/texts/mb if you go over your limit?
Can't seem to find it on the site.

Hmmm...want to get away from O2. Just finished up a contract now. Doubt they'd give an offer like that but don't really want another 12 month contract...

Can't seem to find it on the site.

Looks to be the standard PAYG charges.
    http://www.tescomobile.ie/other-call-charges.aspx

    20c/minute call, 10c texts and 2c/MB data.

Ask on the Talk to Tescomobile forum to confirm.

We currently have the €35 sim only plan which is the same as this, (10000 mins + 10000 texts to any network inc. landlines and 15GB data) but it is rolling month to month... so it might be worth saving €5 a month (€60 a year) to lock into it at €30 a month.

P.s. I dont know about anyone else on here... but it is finally great to see the likes of O2 and vodafone panicking now that competition is finally here... its great for the consumer and to be honest its a long long time coming.

Can't seem to ask a question over there. Maybe it's my browser (IE8)?

Anyways, would landline calls be included in the Any Network Minutes? They are with Meteor.

Just asked this over on the talk to Tesco forum and they confirmed landlines are included in the minutes.

    Hi

I am currently with O2 on a crappy plan but the handiest thing for me is the 500 webtexts per month as I manage a team and find these very good for sending out group messages.

Would I have something similar with Tesco?

    Thanks
    Bull

I'm not sure about that but if they didn't depending on your phone you could setup a group in contacts to send texts? Or failing that use an app for it. Thats if you have a smartphone.

Yes same thing, but currently only 200 texts plus 50 international texts.

Will they exclude thethering from the inclusive data allowance like O2?

Only thing that makes me wary of switching to Tesco mobile is the feedback on their Facebook wall, not great at times. .
