Best place to get a turbo recon in Cork

    Who's the best for value in Cork for reconditioning a turbo of a 03 passat 1.9tdi? Been quoted 500 in Cork and 320 in Dublin so far.

    Anyone know anything that may help.

    my nephew sells recon turbos and i hear awful stories from him of jobs going all wrong on people who buy too cheap.

    Your turbo went for a reason , like lack of oil change, bad oil, dirt in system somewhere and this cause needs to be discovered and eliminated ,OTHERWISE your new turbo may well fail.

    generally cheap means not so good.

    he can supply you with a re manufactured turbo, with a years warranty for around 600 euro inc vat.

    It is vital you use a mechanic who realises how much he needs to clean out your intake pipes, and apparently, you will need to do your next oil change after the job is done ,sooner than usual. Even a brand new turbo can fail if enough cleaning of pipes is not done

    he will give you advice for free, I am PM ing you with his number

    Your engine can have several makes and models of turbos. it is essential you get the correct one.
