Collecting Money An Post

How long does your welfare payment remain in the Post Office for collection ? I did see 12 days but someone told me it must be collected before the start of your next payment day. eg if its Tuesday collected by the Monday before.

Its 3 days, if it goes in on a tuesday then you have until close of business on thursday to collect it or it gets sent back to the department and it'll probably get suspended until you go down to the social welfare and explain why you didnt collect.

I got mixed up in the day for collection .I actually collected it for 2 months on Friday without any question .
