ye and hearing she is getting treatment for mental issues.

That limerick crew are destroying republicanism, wish they would give it up.
Back in the early nineties the provos "decommissioned" the IPLO in one night, I don't think I'd shed many tears if similar happened to this lot.

Was talking to a guy from the area earlier while waiting for a take-away. He said she was a complete nutter who used to ride on daddy's coattails and throw her weight around.

Apparently the father is a serious player in Limerick and she's a complete embarrassment. Her attitude during the whole case and the media's reporting of it has been humiliating for local Republicans.

Said he doubts it was a sanctioned hit, she was the type to try and prove herself by doing something like this on her own initiative.

Don't know how accurate any of that is, it was just pub-talk, but she's clearly delusional.

Without a doubt she has issues, but the gards and the media are only too happy to connect her with republicans to further drag the name through dirt.

There is a huge effort for this lately and it seems to be having an effect.

RTE's coverage of this murder has been completely skewed, either through downright misinformation or ommission.

    1) This woman was not in the "Continuity IRA". She was in a pseudo-political splinter group calling itself the "Real"CIRA - a limerick based gang.

    2) The CIRA did not release a statement after the murder saying it was a "military operation". Again, she was not in the CIRA.

    3) The man who was shot was a well respected republican involved with Republican Sinn Fein. The organisation RTE news are saying shot him. Something omitted, I assume, through design.

    4) The woman and her associates were removed from the CIRA/RSF movement in 2010 and wer enot part of the organisation.

Instead of reporting the facts, RTE and other media outlets have warped the entire story so that it looks like the CIRA murdered a "hard working man 20 years married". I guess they dont want to combine the latter information with his membership of RSF/association with "dissident" republicanism.

An absolute disgrace RTE. The intentional mixing up of facts to skew the news and construct an anti-republican narrative.

Don't know who that is, but I think it's the same Joe Lynch who runs this website (complete speculation).

What I find funny is that that website declares it's no longer affiliated with this website yet they both use the same email address for contact.

Clearly someone forgot to update the details. Good web admin does not a terrorist make.

You would wonder how these RTE idiots ever made it through college that they cant get 7 or 8 acronyms correct. Its not rocket science, and if they cant get their thick heads around it to the point of warping an entire murder story and misinforming the public they are supposed to be serving, then they should be ****ing sacked for incompetency.

I suspect it is intentional though.

This act was carried out by "the Limerick Loonies" as they are known in Republican circles. This case proves why they have that name. They are not connected to RSF or the CIRA.

I will say there is alot more to this case than meets the eye ie who was her real targets. She apparently had a 6 man hit list. Was her actual targets RSF/CIRA members?

This was apparently related to the murder of CIRA/RSF secretary Liam Kenny. Was this woman taking revenge for that or attempting to kill more of his comrades. Liam Kennys murder is still unsolved.

And most importantly who was this womans male accomplice and why is there a delay in his charge, is this man an informant. How was the woman apprehended. Many questions...but its obvious this a disgusting act of violence that deserved its sentence.

Another victim of violent Republicanism - a butcher's van driver murdered by a middle-aged woman. I'm not quite sure how the terrorists think this strikes a blow for Ireland or improves the lot of their countrymen, but she seems quite proud of herself. The only thing I can think of is that this was another squabble over the proceeds of drug dealing.

    http://www.independent.ie/irish-news/courts/female-assassin-pleads-guilty-to-murder-29184761.html

I have to admit that I didn't read beyond the first page of this thread, and that I don't want to engage in some political argument. I don't approve of murder, full stop.

But what irked me was the mention that a middle-aged woman or a woman killed a van driver.

So now, what age was the van driver? Was his age relevant? Like: middle-aged van driver killed a pensioner/a teenager/hunk in his prime? And what is his prime?

Do you reckon that middle-aged women are more suitable to crocheting than killing?

Would you prefer if the killer was an attractive, say, 25-year-old? Would that enhance your sexual phantasies and acceptance of dare-devil-woman?
Or would it be easier if the killer had been a man, what age ever?
(I like to think of a headline like: Gorgeous blue-eyed and fit man killed a Champagne-seller - or middle-aged man killed a Toyota-driveress... just thinking).

Are you scared of middle-aged women who don't shy away of doing what ever they want to do?

Do you imagine that your long-suffering Mom would finally strike back, which frightens you? Hence the mention of middle-aged woman?

Why oh why is a middle-aged woman more outrageous than any other killer?

I know, a lot of questions for an AH-audience...

You just read an article about a woman who shot an innocent man on his way to work to death and then proceeded to shout Republican slogans in the court room while throwing up her fist in pride as she was denounced as scum by the family of the victim.

You read all that and your issue is that the article was ageist?

    Really?

    Really?

I've read in the OP that a middle-aged woman, not any person, did what ever she did for what reasons ever.
It's not about ageism, it's about the mindset behind a political and/or criminal matter, where gender and age shouldn't matter.

Murder is murder, and it doesn't matter if it is a woman or a man or what age they are.

And yes, I did read the news about this case.

    The problem is the following

"2 year old girl kills gangland boss in vicious attack".

    would get PC'd to

"Suspect kills gangland boss in vicious attack".

which is far less interesting a headline.

Personally I want to hear about the 2 year old and quite frankly I'm curious as to what you have against 2 year old girls. It's a bizarre prejudice and one you should be ashamed of imo.

So it's sensationalism and gossip you're after? Don't you have the red tops for that?

But fine, I let you go on. Sorry for sidetracking you from your profound intellectual debate.
