Upgraded HD in iBook Clamshell now I can't install Mac OS X10.3 on it

    Hi,

    updated the hard drive in the clamshell wiped and formatted the drive. Installed Mac OS 9, now I cant install 10.3. When I pop in the disc and hold C black screen comes up saying hold on/off button to restart, and error but cant read it due to the on/off button error screen. I read somewhere about firmware updates or something.

    Can any body help.
