lookin to buy a Router that will take custom firmware (DD-WRT) I want to buy from an irish Company but dont want to pay over the odds because im only making a repeater. Any advice? Cheers lads.

There is no such thing, the antenna in your laptop is just two thin cables running up the back of the screen.

Here's a better option if you don't want to run cables

Doubt it would make much difference. If there are walls causing the obstruction to your wireless signal the best method it to cable/homeplug around them to the uncovered area and add another wireless access point on a different channel giving full coverage.
