Looking for a laptop recommendation.

    I'm looking for a new laptop at the moment my current one is on it's way out.
    My budget is €400-€450,my main uses are image editing with photoshop,itunes and general internet browsing.
    I can buy online or in a shop although I've looked in PC World and nothing jumped out at me.

    I've had a look on PC World and compared 3 laptops which are on sale and looked half decent on first glance. (see pic)
    I'd go with the ASUS X501A-XX402H 15.6" Laptop - White because the processor is i3 and it appears to me a lot of lower spec processors started appearing in laptops when Windows 8 launched and I would prefer an i3/i5 over celeron/AMD dual core.

    You might also want to look on laptopsdirect.ie. your money would stretch abit further there I'd say.

    Perhaps somebody who uses photoshop could advise in more detail though.

    I just bought my 2nd one of these in 2 weeks:

    Its gone down 50 euro. First one was 470, the one I just bought was €432 including fast 3 day delivery!
    Recommended.


    HOWEVER.
    Photoshop might need more RAM (which is easy to upgrade) and a better graphics card than the build in Intel HD 4000.

    For Photoshop, you want processing power and plenty memory. Grab a cheap Core i5 at LD and upgrade to 8 GB RAM later (~€35).

    HD4000 is fine. Although Photoshop (like most Adobe programs) supports graphics acceleration, the benefits are not as noticeable as with Premiere for example.
