Heard about this yesterday and it made my day. Must have a look around later to see if I can find any longer articles on it. This is my favourite line in the article.

This forest complex is home not only to a healthy tiger population, but also leopards, elephants, hyenas and vultures

This new reserve links up two existing ones so it's wonderful for maintaining genetic diversity. Also, it's a great example of using a species the public feels strongly about to grant protection to many other species as well.

You have to take your hat off to the Indians. They have one of the densest/largest human populations on the planet and yet manage to maintain some impressive populations of mega-fauna like Rhinos, Jumbos, big cats etc. We could learn alot from them in this part of the world when it comes to tolerance and valueing of wildlife resources!!

Absolutely. They realise that they have more tigers than any other country and they're doing something about it.
