That's what is known as a lamp box. Is it a P&T one or a British one? This ad is from a well known NI Salvage Yard and the asking price and whether a buyer can be found are two very different matters. You could do worse than try Adverts.ie with a €150/200 reserve. A pic might help get some better idea of value.

These are reproductions, certainly the 'Irish' one is.

The ebay ones seem to be manufactured new for people that want a 'quirky' house post box or the 'Oirish' or Ye Olde British pub market. The sellers pitch is worded very vaguely as to whether the items are new or an original piece. Note 'original design'. 'Refurbished' most likely a lick of paint to a primed casting and/or sticking on repro collection plates. Like Indy said about the Nazis 'I hate these guys'.

The OPs box is a modern An Post type, too new to be a true collectable.

It is as you say gobnaitolunacy - and the bulk of PO/Phoneboxes being sold in Ireland today are repros or makey-up rubbish. Two cases in point on eBay from the Belfast dealer are illustrated below. Anybody with the slightest knowledge of phoneboxes knows that there was never an Irish version of the K6 but the dealer does not lie when he describes it as 'Original Irish Telephone Box k6 design' - original it certainly is, and as fresh as a newly laid egg.

The SE wallbox while having an SE emblem does not seem authentic either and is different to any that I have seen. The 'Irish' K6 is worthless to a collector but might suit some awful 'Oirish' theme pub.
