Most of the most companies looking for interns are big companies. Most of them would be household names or companies that a quick Google search shows that they are a big company. Google, Microsoft, IBM, Irish Life, KPMG, Deloitte, Fidelity were all looking for interns this year and many others. (due to the design of the Intra site I can't log in to check what other ones were there anymore) But yeah they were all big companies. Some of the companies mightn't be just this big but don't worry - you won't end up in a company that works out of a garden shed.

As it happens a friend of mine did his intra placement on a city farm, kinda like a garden shed but more animals.

Depends on how well you do in first year really. Some of this year's third years are going to places like HEAnet, MasterCard and Amazon.

Generally, most people get a work placement. I remember talking to someone who just ended up working in an office in UCD for his INTRA though a few years back.

Basically, do well and get an awesome placement!
