Luke has become the forgotten man! He's still number 3 in the world and with one of the best short games going but because he cannot boom drives like Tiger, Rory et al he's never mentioned much!

Was thinking the same heading into the match play 2 weeks ago. Hopefully he's hiding in the long grass and can put on a exhibition soon enough.

Can't see him featuring this week though, hopefully he proves me wrong but I just think his form has been a bit hit and miss with the last few months. I think he is gearing up for Augusta.

Can't wait for this championship to start though as the Matchplay is a lottery so this will have all the worlds best players included and we will know where they stand going into this season!

    From pgatour.com

Charl Schwartzel-Keegan Bradley-Jason Dufner: Bradley got into contention last week at The Honda Classc, where he finished fourth. It was his second fourth-place finish this season. Schwartzel has been just as consistent, finishing in the top 10 in his two stroke-play starts on TOUR this season. They'll tee off at 11:31 a.m. Thursday and 12:37 p.m. Friday.

Bubba Watson-Phil Mickelson-Steve Stricker: Mickelson has had success here before, winning the event in 2009 and having been on the losing end of the memorable Duel at Doral with Tiger Woods in 2005 here before the tournament took on WGC status. Stricker is making just his third start of the season, but he's played well with a runner-up in Maui and a semifinal appearance in the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship. Last year, Watson tied the 18-hole tournament record here with a 10-under 62. He led through three rounds before finishing second to Rose. Watson has three top-15 finishes in four starts this season. They'll tee off at 12:48 p.m. and 11:53 a.m.

Webb Simpson-Sergio Garcia-Graeme McDowell: It's been a busy year for Simpson, who is already making his seventh start of the year this week. In the last two, he's finished in the top 6, which includes reaching the semifinals of the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship. McDowell is also coming off back-to-back top 10s. They'll tee off at 12:37 p.m. and 11:42 a.m.

A guy just shouted "root canal" after Rory's tee shot. Americans. Sigh.

Tiger was most impressive, couple of lipped putts and still 9 birdies.

Great shot from Phil on the par 3 :)

Gmac really seems to get the most out of his game in the bigger events ....great pro

I'm still trying to figure out how Luke made it 2 world no 1
The only time I can remember him playing well against a top ranked player was at Wentworth versus Westwood
He always seems to get chewed up when paired with the big names in the game
Or maybe I've a short memory

Tiger looking very good, in well control of his putting

He had 17 birdies over the first 2 rounds. His highest ever after 36 holes....

I get what you are saying about Luke but the year he became number 1, he won 2 PGA events and 3 European tour events and hand a lot of top 10 finishes. However, he does seem to be missing something!

    I agree,

I love Luke ,but no one seen him as the number 1, even when he was.

    Legally of course.

He's not a ball striker. He's missing length obviously. He's a great scrambler/nice iron player. I'd pay money to watch Tiger and Rory. I wouldn't pay to watch Donald. That's just me though, I like to watch the pros that nail it.

Tiger and Gmac are making it look easy!

I love watching Jacobsen play, so laid back but can really play!

GMAC playing solid stuff, not intimated by Tiger.

Am I alone in my dislike of Keegan Bradley? His pre-shot routine would test the patience of a saint!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,244 ✭✭✭✭Seve OB

wife out with her pals, just got the kids to bed and sitting down to my dinner and watch the golf... happy days :)

am really pissed off to see that it will be off the air in the next 5 minutes, all because i have sky sports via upc and not sky so I don't have access to the RED button.

WTF, UPC get your act together and SKY, shame on you for not showing a World Golf Championship (in favour of boring cricket!) to those of us who pay for your services, just not directly to you

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,474 ✭✭✭✭GreeBo

UPC dont have an option, SKY are not providing it so what can they do?
Annoying to say the least though... :(

ridiculous that its on red button, one of the top 8 tournaments of the year!!!yet they will show the fall series that no one really cares about without any interruption
