Lovely bike. You'll regret that White bar tape though, mark my words :). Mine is filthy after 4 spins.

    Blowtorch?

    Looks fantastic Diarmo!

Also, I like the way your bike is stored, as suggested in the first image, in hill climbing mode. I'm sure it will be doing a lot of that.

excuse my ignorance, but what does stored in hill climbing mode mean?

I think it is a bit of humerous sarcasm actually.
If you take a look at the gear that the bicycle is seen in the photos you will see that it appears that the chain is wrapping around the Big Ring of the Chainwheel at the Front and the smallest of the gear cogs of the cassette at the rear.

This is a Big Ratio. Normally used in a high speed sprint or going DOWNHILL!:D

Even starting off in a gear like this can prove difficult.( Especially as one gets older and has more memories of cycling that miles in recent years.)

gotcha. thanks for the explanation .i knew you weren't supposed to store your bike with the chain on the big front cog, i didn't realize it was frowned upon for a pic as well..:)

Going to ask a stupid question
I can understand why the Pros or someone with back up during a race or event would use tubs instead of clinchers
but is it not madness to use them on normal rides due to the hassle of fixing them if you get a puncture ??

Most races will be over if you ride clinchers anyway (or are very quick at changing/ riding at a level below your abilities).

And seeing as most Irish races are run on circuits, you're never too far from support.

The impracticality of tubs is offset by the fact you probably bore everyone you meet with how great your tubs are and where you stand on tubs vs. clinchers.

    How observant are u

It's actually an early pre market prototype i got of me mate who works in Shimano, u can obviously see from the battery on the back why it never made it to market :(

Looks like it, otherwise frame is too big for you. You should just be about to touch the ground with your feet, not put your foot flat on the ground while seated.

I have increased the height a small bit, it was too low for me. Its a small bike frame.

Just about finished putting this rig together, only minor tweaks left on the to do list to get it a little lighter than the 7.4kg as it currently stands.

So far it's a very fun piece of kit - very stiff with plenty power transmission and light steering so it'll change direction quickly when you want it to. Now just to train the legs to do it some justice!
