Anyone notice any weird connections when looking at peoples fantasy football teams?

One of the posters here is entered in a league for the (real life) football team I am meant to be playing against at the weekend.

I especially like the way there is an FSA average and overall average to make us feel good about ourselves.

64-58 in my favour with my opponent having Reid tomorrow night and i have Demel. It looks likely i will progress but ya never know........

I'm 95% out mate. The only way I can win is if Reid scores tonight or if he keeps a clean sheet and Demel doesn't play and I really can't see West Ham getting a clean sheet away against Arsenal.

Demel not playing does worry me tbh,Ya never know with Big Sam and Reid does do well from corners so ya gotta chance...

Oh dear. I'm going to lose to a girl. I should never have entered.

If Arsenal keep a clean sheet I've got a decent chance of progressing.

Currently eight points behind with Sagna, Demel, Walcott and Noble to play vs Demel and Walcott.

Serious standard when you look throughout!

some standard alright the fpl gw average is 43 so far. 63 out of 64 of us are above that average score. Rock whore to get above the average tonight to gives us the clean sweep.

Gotta feel bad for owlszat, scored 69 and is losing to a 71.
Whichever of us loses will surely be just as unlucky.

No chance, if you lose you will be unlucky. If I lose (and its 90% likely I will) then it's because I've been behind at every step of the way!

I know we've had discussions about luck the last week but me losing this draw has nothing to do with luck. I had a decision to make on Davies and it was the wrong one, this alone has cost me.

I'm the 72 and he's going to beat me. All he needs is 2 points from Jussi tonight. I'm out I'm afraid.:(

(He has Harte coming off the bench for 2 so its effectively 71 v 72 as it stands)

You just need Arsenal to run riot and Jussi not to make any saves. You're in a better position than me! Harsh going out with 70+ though

Demel is my last weapon to catch shane732. Hoping for a hattrick, at least. Also Cazorla, Walcott, Gibbs and O'Brien not playing tonight would help......

An early Gibbs assisted Walcott goal will make things interesting between me and C.S.F

I'm pricing myself up at 8/1 to go through.

Just looking at your team.....you're 18 behind me but Clyne comes in with 6 for Luiz so diff is down to 12, with you having Szsz extra tonight. A CS for Arsenal and anything can happen after that!!! Like you said, a penalty save or two!

    50/50?
I thought you took 12 points hit to bring Arsenal into game, but you didn't...
Those Reading players look funny on bench btw

Ye 12 points I hear wenger is considering Szcezney in the lone striker role as giroud was so dissappointing at the weekend. In all seriousness though hes gonna need a peno save, clean sheet and a save bonus point I think your safe unless he does a Paul Robinson once in a lifetime punt from the edge of the box.

Yeah took 12 point hit (60->48) to sort out the team for next few weeks, not to bring in arsenal players as such. Took Evra in during the previous gameweek matches which required 2 transfers... an impulse buy really. Then realised Cech was back sooner than expected so only had Bunn for goals, was expecting Liverpool to knock a good few past him so that paired with Jaaskelainen having the double game week meant the potential points difference should nearly offset the cost of making that transfer earlier rather than later, as intended.

Yeah my reading bench is keeping my investment on the pitch! They generally get 90mins so no disaster if they get subbed in. Will take Pogrebnyak on for the odd game.

Goalkeeper transfer cost you 4, you need him to make more than 5-6 to make it even... You could've waited one extra week, but at the end we all do it from time to time, even if we know we shouldn't. Good score overall anyway...

I'm out. Needed 8pts from Vermaelen & C Cole. They'll get half that at most

i've never celebrated a west ham goal.....but i did then and thank god it wasnt cole too! :D

Lot of points flooding in tonight!

The FPL site is struggling, the cup table script might not get all the teams updated until it settles down.

I've gone from a massive outsider to a slight fav...

CSF will be pretty unlucky if I end up beating him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,748 ✭✭✭Swiper the fox

I'm under pressure here, I think another Santi goal could put me out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,969 ✭✭✭✭alchemist33

3 points behind. Probably need Podolski to get 3 baps to tie. Unless a lucky yellow card happens

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,208 ✭✭✭MikeCork2009

I have crept ahead in my tie, 81-79. It's on a knife edge though!!!!! Another Arsenal goal, not involving Walcott would make it 79-78 to me and don't want to even think about cards.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

As it stands it's 78-78. If Walcott picks up a BP I should go through. Jussi is on 2 saves though so if he picks up another that's an extra point which will probably knock me out.

    Tense

Looks like I'll go through. By the skin of my teeth with 92 points + whatever Walcott bonus, if any. Think I'm going to win by a point.

Edit that. We are both going to be on 92 points before Walcott bonus. Both of us have him as captain.

Edit 2: How is the winner decided when it's a draw?
