I've used these, 48Gr No. 3,€5 for 10, knocked a fox stone dead at 28 yds with one.

They make them in 56GR as well, have some in 0 & 2, but don't see them on their site. The lads that shoot with the hounds are big fans of these. They have 52Gr on it, these: http://www.nobelsport.it/public/pages/ENG/risultato.asp?RISUL_New=y&Cat1ID=17&Ramo=1&FlexFA2=1&FlexFA5=&FlexFA7=26

The RC semi magnum shells are the ones I use for charlie, when I occasionanly bother lamping. I have used them for geese a few times also. Id recommend them anyway.

Yea the semi magnums are the ones I got what sort of rang would you expect to knock a Fox ? He showed me 3" shells aswell but I'm 17, 5 foot 11 and built like a matchstick so I wouldn't like to try firing a 50 gram cartridge

Yep, maybe go on the creatine for a while and then try the 50's. The 40g RC should be plenty of stopping power for the fox's provided you keep the range reasonable.

i have used these recently and at long range you may aswell piss against the wind imo.. i wont be using them again! i would recommend eley alphamax BB's as a foxing shell!

If you could get these, they'd be a good shell for the job.

As for your build, don't be afraid of firing a heavy load against a fox, it's not like you'll be firing numerous shots like clay shooting, keep the gun tight to your shoulder and you'll be sound,at the end of the day, you want to have as humane a kill as possible.

Does anyone remember a 3'' 64 gram copper plated cartridge - I cant remember who made them and if they are still being made I wouldn't mind getting a couple of boxes ?

They had serious stopping power even if it sounded like a canon going off!

I don't know what cartridge you are on about. Do you mean 64 gram ?

Maybe they were less than 64 grams but that's what I thought they were - they were only 3" as that's the biggest my gun could take. They were copper plated and I think they could have been Winchester aaa but I can't find anything online about them.

I picked up a box of rc40 33gr bb's during the week so will test em out sunday

I use Fiocchi 38g 4's and never leave a kick in any fox I've hit.
