Well? What got me thinking about this is the Yvonne character in fair city ( http://www.ybig.ie/forum/uploads/temp/20110325_121932_0003f0ec-279.jpg )
, no matter how strong a personality you have, she could literally destroy your ego in 30 seconds.

So generally are men slightly intimidated by highly confident women? I'll admit that personally I am and not sure if I could go out with one.

Wouldn't say intimidated. Beautiful, sexy, successful strong minded women are always a serious challenge for me and one I don't always win. I don't think it's because I get intimidated, I think it's because they can see through my bullshìt!

Terrible example. If you watch fair city at all you'll find she's just an insecure, bitter old bag. There's a hell of a difference between a confident, intelligent woman, and a drama queen head melt.

You'd have to be insecure as a man to be intimidated by a strong woman. A woman who has her own mind and way with the world is a thing to look out for.

On the other hand, a woman who's aggressive and bitchy is a whole different thing and I would be intimidated by them but for the wrong reasons.

I would go out with one and not the other basically.

tbh if a woman felt she needed to "crush" me in an argument/debate/conversation id have nothing to do with her, id never feel the need to do so so i wouldnt put up with it, being confidant does not equal to being an arsehole

their is indeed but unpleasant women nowadays can ( with licence ) reach for the sexist card very quick when challenged on their nastiness , if a man refuses to bow , he is labelled a sexist

There's nothing wrong with a strong minded woman so long as she's not unreasonable and think's she's right about everything.

I like my woman to be a little hurt and unhappy when I first meet her so I can save her and make her feel soo loved and secure. That's what happened with my current gf. She's so happy now. She know's i'm never gonna leave her or beat her like her ex's did. Her ex's hurt her so much, her poor little heart was broken.

I gave her a shoulder to cry on cause her bf has cheated on her again and I was so good to her and we eventually slept together, now she's mine and she's so happy. She fully trusts me now. I'm gonna be soo good to her forever.

The girl is gorgeous but her last ex was paticularly vile, he said she was so ugly no one would ever lover and he called her a beached whale and a cow and all kinds of things. It effected her mind so bad she vomited after she ate; So i'm so happy I've got her now.

Now she knows she's pretty and she knows that it was all lies just to abuse her.

Being confident is a really good trait

The problem with a lot of really confident people is that arrogance often acccompanies that confidence. Combine those two characteristics in someone and you have an absolute cunt, regardless of gender

I know I'm not that sharp. My thought processes evolve slowly and I rarely assume that I have all the pertinent facts to hand. I like to chat and be open to re-assessing my beliefs. If I detect that someone sees this as a sign of weakness and is just trying to steam-roll me for their own ego, that's that. I won't be used as a punch bag. The person I would regard as having the greatest ability for thinking would never use his powers for evil. Truly self assured people never would IMO.

There's nothing sexier than a big brain.
