Any issues with neighbours?

Having recently moved into a house I'm getting used to having to put up with certain things that neighbours might do.

The house is semi detached and the gable walls share an alley which the neighbour has thrown loads of crap down. He must be redecorating but there's bags, doors and loads of planks of wood.

Then on the attached side the top layers of blocks of the back garden wall has fallen off and they have a huge German Shepard that hops up barking and is basically face to face with ya.

The dog isn't annoying really but the crap in the side entrance is, so, do you have or had any issues with neighbours? How were they resolved or is there a long term feud?

I was upset when Charlene left. And the Harold Bishop storyline was farcical.

My neighbor took offense when we had a large housparty (50 + people) and my drunken friend decided to show her the meat-spin. We all thought she was bang out of order calling the gaurds.....

When we moved into our house, the neighbours next door seemed a bit weird, the kids were young but I just knew they were going to be trouble in a few years. After about 6 months they just left, house still had toys outside, 2 cars still there (one is a 2006 jeep that hasn't moved since I've been here, 2009) etc but no sign of them. Found out they had run up a pile of debt, owed everyone money and then the father had been jailed in the UK (I'm told for Murder).
The house started it fall into disrepair, windows broken, rubbish from inside the house had been thrown outside. Then I seen a fella at the house one day so I went over for a chat, he was a surveyor hired by the bank, very nice man, he organised for the house to be cleaned up, windows fixed and its in the process of being taken over by the bank with the hope of being sold. No mater who moves into it now, I think we dodged a bullet with the previous owner.

Are you renting or do you own the house?

If construction work is actively going on in their house, you have to give them some leeway with regard to the rubble.

From what I've read recently here, 7 foot high fences and chicken wire seems to be a good place to start if you want to annoy the others for a bit.

I had to put up a fence on top of my wall to keep the vermin from my neighbours house out, they're now complaining because it's unsightly :D

    I bought the house yeah.

I wouldn't mind if it was just kept to there side as I have to bring the wheelie bin through the side entrance. It's not even that much stuff, they could just put it in their shed. It's been there for a while as well, at least a month anyway.

The day we went to view our house the neighbour and her husband were out introducing themselves. I just thought she was being friendly but now that I know her a bit better I know she was sussing us out. She doesn't work and doesn't have any children so it seems to me that she has a huge amount of time on her hands. She even has a dog walker and she has a fella who calls us to valet her car! She's very much into keeping up with the Jones's. We paint our house, she paints her house, we varnish our windows, she varnishes her windows. I put up hanging baskets, she puts up hanging baskets. Its even happened twice that she's got a new car after we've got new ones! Have to say though, its all pretty harmless and they are good neighbours. Could definitely be living next door to worse!

My neighbour has loud sex in the room next to me (student accommodation) almost every night. She is soooo faking it, but that's another story. The issue isn't helped by the fact that there's a door between our two rooms so we might as well be in the same room (bed). I can't look her straight in the face the next morning. How does one deal with the situation delicately? I did leave this playing on my subwoofer for 10 hours one day:

My neighbors are always either fighting or riding. Sometimes it's hard to tell which is which.

Mine can't be arsed enough to keep his cats under control so I've had to put up chickenwire and suffer him moaning about it on boards.

The wall with the top layer of block missing has a big crack through a section also. I'm gonna talk to them and suggest I can repair that section to the whole wall and build that top layer back on so we don't have to be staring at each other every time we're out the back.

I have a neighbour who has been using a loud electric drill everyday for four years. He's just drilling holes for the sake of it. Either that or he's pulling a jeffrey dahmer. I heard screaming on tuesday and assumed it was love making.

One issue, they are all too damn nice! Seriously tho, best neighbors I could ask for. Helps that its a stable housing estate as in people here have known eachother for 20+ years and more than willing to help what ever the problem! Must be ****ty to have bad neighbors.

If he ends up in court he'll probably ask for several other fences to be taken into consideration.

Have one neighbor who wont let anyone park outside his house.
and if you do park there he will deliberately move his van from his garden and block the car so the car can't be moved

Outside at his wall or blocking his drive? I hates feckers who do the latter, the former however is perfectly fine as its not his road.

I'd rent a Ferrari for a few days, just to mess with them, see what they do. :P

Rubbish might annoy you but its on his property - if he's redecorating give him a bit of leeway - if its still there in a month's time or starts encroaching into your garden that's a difference story.

These things rarely get resolved and generally get out of hand and lifes too short to get into a feud - what's the point - it just gets your stress levels up.

Most people don't like when people, especially if you are new, pointing things like this out to them so what's to be gained only grief.

    Live and let live

AH response - píss in his letterbox and rob his wife's sexy undies of the clothes line and parade around in them;) :)

Outside his wall, public road not blocking any entrance or drive

I can never understand total knobends like him who actually believe they own the road outside their house, I would hate to see how he would react if someone went and blocked his drive.

    Tell me about it
My parents where having a party just before Christmas, a lot of my relatives drove as they had far to travel and where going to stay the night.
They parked outside his house and around his house - not blocking his drive way. (he lives at the cul de sac)

Knock at the door later that evening, the Neighbor asks if the cars could be moved as he couldn't get in and out of his drive (which was lies)
My dad just laughed in his face and closed the door.
Next day two of my relatives where leaving to notice the car plates on their car had gone - needles to say , we all knew how that happen  but unfortunately had no evidence
