My son has plans to study computer science of some sort in either UCD or TCD in 2013/14 and I need to get an estimate for just college fees. How much do I need to allocate for college fees for year 1 approximately. Numbers I have heard range from 3500 to 5000. Is that a realistic figure. id like to hear form any first year students if possible. TIA John

Are you including reg. fee or are you just talking about day-to-day costs associated with college?

College fees are unlikely to go up over €2500 i'd say.

Day-to-day costs vary wildly depending on where he'll live and whether or not he'll need to commute.

According to the Budget it will be €2500 for 2013/14, but increasing by €250 each year until 2015.
