Whatever Bould was supposed to bring as defence coach, it clearly has not worked

Bouldy was never going to be a defensive coach. He got the job as he was Arsene's choice as his new "Yes" man. Not a hope is Wenger going to allow somebody other than himself dictate how his players play. Its his style, for better or worse.

Is it any wonder that the players lack belief and confidence, when we have this kind of shíte being posted by supposed fans. If the fans can't be positive and aim high then what's the point of it all.

Fans are allowed to be critical surely? Fans have high expectations and rightly so. Most fans will not be happy at Arsenal's lacklustre season.

Nice dig with the supposed fan comment. I'm sure Vermaelen and Giroud are hanging on my every typed word on boards.ie and feel their confidence waning with each post.

The supposed fan bit was a dig but not just at you. It was aimed at others here who it seems prefer when we play bad and aren't seen otherwise.

As for the negativity, I'm fully aware no one at the club will be reading here but the negativity surrounding the club is everywhere. All the social media sites are the same with people who are almost wetting themselves with excitement when we make a mistake. Being a fan is about believing. And hoping and aiming for the stars. Otherwise what's the point?

Its shocking then that Wenger cannot see the defence is a major problem. How can he not see what is obvious to most who know a little about football.

And you could say that about most of the players on the pitch today.

    They just don't care.

I agree unfortunately. A lot of them look like there don't like playing the game anymore and act as though it's a nine to five where they just show up for a wage.

That attitude started IMO sometime ago, probably a few years ago, but Fab left and wanted to go for a long time before he left. Then van Persie and Song. If big players like these do not believe in the club, the management etc then that filters or permeates into the squad as a whole.

Absolutely agree but if Arsene sets up his team to be more defensive in their style of play do we get a goal like the one we saw today from Gibbs? Finding the correct balance is the key.

I think we'd all love for Arsenal to be stronger defensively but modern football is so attack minded you gotta be pro-active going forward and that will leave you open at the back..

For us the front two wide players of the forward three have to help out at the back alot more than they currently are. Walcott playing wide right offers ZERO assistance to Sagna and slightly less so with Pod on the opposite side

I do get what your saying but while thats all well and good these days our attacking play is absolutely dire aswell, its not like were an attacking force who play wonderful football and rip defences apart more often than not we dont these days sadly.

Good point, is the team lacking fluidity. It'll take a smarter man than I to figure it out

i was much more disappointed with Cazorla tbh. When's he going to start to show those little flashes of brilliance again?

Hes just doing like most of the team does, whe were playing well they all want the ball, when were up against it and the game aint going our way most of our players turn into shy schoolboys who dont want or work for the ball.

Don't think jack or Ramsey ever shy away, they always look for the ball or work hard without it

    Thought today was OK.

Look, what people don't seem to cop is that there just isn't the gap between our players and the players of other teams these days.

It's not about effort, or trying ... We're just not that good.

I thought we were doing OK today till Kos made that huge blunder for the first goal. He's got such potential but you can't be a top defender except for the mistakes.

Thought Per was worse for the first goal than Kos.

Nah, he was right where he needed to be and was about to cover Michu run. Kos basically cushioned the ball to Michu and that turned Per inside out.

Michu did well but Kos needs to be stronger. Either get a good boot on it or don't try and just stand up in front of him.

AW may get the finger out and get signing players. We're gonna need some extra bodies in there with 8 games left this month.

Being beaten by Bradford may not be such a bad thing now considering we'd potentially have had 10 games(!) to play in the guts of 4 weeks otherwise.

    Glad I slept through that.

If I'd had a choice I'd have much rather slept through the Southampton game. Despite the defensive mistakes, today was a much improved performance

Little or no improvement in fairness. For 80 minutes we were very very poor. The performance was lifeless with no passion and full of mistakes. We are slowly slipping further behind the top teams. Our play was very slow with no crisp passing and little invention, it was very predictable. We are going nowhere fast.

We need huge changes at Arsenal. We are in recession.

The Southampton display was lifeless - inept passing and no penetration. Today we worried the Swansea defence on plenty of occasions and the passing was much improved.

Potential?he is 27 been at the club 3 years?

In all fairness people are making today out to be as if we played like we did vs Southampton.

We played fairly well especially in the second half had many chances but were unlucky as a lot of shots/headers went close to the keeper while Swansea got 2 goals from 2 chances.

We created chances but just didnt finish them. Overall not a bad performance bar Ramsey who I felt just did not look comfortable on the wing. Play Rosicky there instead if Wegner wants more ball retention on that wing.

Overall not a bad result considering we lost to Swansea at the Emirates, but the replay will no doubt be an unwanted game in a busy period, therefore we need to strenghten in Jan as i said before.

The biggest problem today, besides Walcott being too greedy, was that we were far too "ponderous" in our build up. Had we sped up our play a bit and got the ball to the forwards sooner there wouldn't have been any need for the scramble near the end.

Do you actually like anyone at the club?

Jaysus lads we need a new keeper badly! Some of the goals Chesney concedes do be very tame indeed!

He should have got something onto the Michu effort today.

Shows how far we've fallen when this is considered a good result after conceding a last minute equaliser to Swansea.
