Come on lads. They are playing a powerhouse of French rugby in their own back yard. Would Munster win here tonight?

That kick from the 11 was stupid! Handed the try to Biarritz! Any chance of a LBP gone in a flash.. dopes!

And Yachvili breaks the punters heart...

That was a bit of a joke lads imo. The game shouldn't have went ahead with the pitch in that state.

Powerhouse? Don't think so... They've been in a downward spiral for the past 6 seaons or so since those H Cup finals that they got to. Granted they won the Amlin last season, but powerhouse? Nope.

Power house is a word that seems to be bandied around for every french club

The Conn game plan was woeful and they made some very silly individual errors (Parks for the first try), they certainly weren't awful, but certainly not superb either

They would have done a hell of a lot more than launch high balls with no chasers all night. What did Connacht actually get from that ? One kickable penalty ? When Biarritz played 20 minutes with 14 men ? Thats pathetic.

McSharry, Marmion and Henshaw were all superb. And McKeon was Motm for Connacht. A lot of real good talent in Connacht.

Not sure what that's supposed to imply tbh. What was pathetic and how have they been pathetic in the past. Please explain

    A shíte, 10 - 0 was a fairer reflection of the game than 17 - 0.

Wouldn't agree with that I'm afraid. Connacht brought nothing to the game and it was all Biarritz. Connacht were lucky it wasn't more in the end.

    Conditions suited Yachvili and Biarritz.

Agree. This has been Connacht for most of the games this season. Brainless at the end

    This

Gameplan from Conn tonight was woeful. Most of what they did seemed to be deep kicks in the hope of a fumble

I agree the conditions didnt help connacht. Was at sportsground for last match and the biarritz backline werent better than connachts. The conditiins were v hard and I thought Connacht made v little handling errors until around 60 minutes. It was a great game. Commitment from both teams was fantastic. The try was poor from Connacht and Parks shouldnt have gone for penalty given how poor underfoot it was. But if he scored it would be different story.

Agree with Henshaw, was very exciting even in almost comical playing conditions..

Thought Marimon was rather poor by his standards tonight- was really taught a lesson by Yach in the art of scrum halfing in these conditions

McKeon and Browne had storming games upfront

Loughs had a good game but Nathan White was fantastic when he came on

    Conditions suited Yachvili and Biarritz.

    Hmmm.

For years we've been hearing that the wind and rain at the Showgrounds upset the opposition. I don't see how tonight's conditions favoured Biarritz.

Yachvili is one of the most intelligent players around so he'll adapt to pretty much anything

For all the effort they put in its always reduced to shíte by utter stupidity and laziness. There has been many games gone the same way. One kickable penalty in 80 minutes against a team with discipline issues (two sent off). Were they in the Biarritz half with the ball more than twice in the game ? Biarritz turned down how many kickable penalties ? 17 - 0 is flattering.

They could have gotten something but couldnt muster anything other than high balls with no chasers, they only tried to run it deep in their own half ffs. And still Biarritz left something there for the takin, but Connacht being Connacht couldnt take it.

Connacht didn't do themselves any favours with their gameplan tonight but I'd bet my bottom dollar you've never played in conditions like that.

The same charge could be levelled against Munster v Racing where they blew the game through their own stupidity or Leinster for failing to return to the basics of just winning the lineout when the malfunction started with the game there for the winning or at least drawing.

Agreed, anyone who believes BOPB are a real force in the T14 is totally out of touch (with French rugby).

They can fire & hire all the coaches they like but they are at best mid table T14.

Connacht slipped up tonight, win was not on but an LBP was possible if they had played a bit of rugby.

We tend to play more back orientated rugby nowadays- Our pack is more mobile rather than just the "stick it up the jumper" that used to suit our play

    PS: It is the Sportsground:p

I agree with all that, but do you not think calling the performance 'pathetic' is a bit of an overstatement?

I'm not playing for a professional rugby team. But if I was I'm pretty sure I could up with a better plan than "Kick the ball away over and over and over again". The difference with Munster and Leinster is they learn from their blunders. Connacht dont, they mooch along holding out and looking heroic by putting in physical shifts but then making even that pointless by throwing away each and every opportunity that comes their way.

Connacht (and Parks in particular) were very naive tonight, I don't know what that has to do with Leinster's crap lineout

This is a very narrow-minded view of Connacht rugby. They've been punching well above their weight in the HC so far, and are a credit to province they represent (bad gameplan tonight aside)

I dont think so no, they are a professional outfit and shouldnt be playing like this on a regular basis. We have seen uproar about McCarthy moving on, do people expect him to put up with that type of stuff day in and day out ?

That tonight to me (considering they didnt even try) was pathetic. Might not be how others describe it but to me I find it beyond disappointing.

cool that's great I think they would as Parks had a major BRAIN fart, shows why he gave up international rugby
