i recently had a sore stomach, to which my african friend suggested a remedy used back home in her country: eating some magpie sh*t. I am not joking. Has anybody ever heard of this? I must say it tasted awful

You're honestly considering a witch doctor remedy of eating birds sh!t to make your stomach better? Logic has just left the building.

Yep.The long tailed shrike is what gets referred to as a magpie in Africa and it certainly is not a corvid like the Eurasian magpie. It only gets called a magpie shrike at times due to it being similar in colour to the Eurasian magpie.

Edit: Ghandee got there before me :)

When I was a young fella we used to convince our Dublin cousins that rabbit droppings were currants. One visit they collected up a bucketful of rabbit poo to bake a cake.

You remind me of them, so you do.

How does one go about gathering magpie poo? Doesn't strike me as being a time efficient way of curing an upset tummy especially during the winter months.
