Quite a bit of old Arsenal players involved in that goal, Clichys mistake, RVPs free and the deflection of Nasri who was trying to hide behind the City wall.

Its mad that we got the same money for Nasri as we did for RVP

Still sickens me every single time to see him scoring for THEM.

It is crazy alright because RVP is streets ahead of him imo. Nasri is over rated i think as hes lazy and never tracks back when he loses the ball.

To be fair to him, he left us at a good age. That came off the back of a great season for us, albeit the second half wasn't near as good as the first half.
RVP is just streets ahead though, but he's gone now so he can go do one. :p

I enjoyed this particular goal as it ended City's attempt at becoming 'Invincibles'.

TBH i like Sadlier. Think he is one of the best pundits around. Cant understand the vitriol toward him tbh as I find him fair and impartial in his opinions and there is not alot of pundits you could say that about.

Im not going to look at the Santi incident through rose tinted glasses. He dived. However as Sadlier correctly pointed out there was what could be interpreted as intention to foul the player by Stephen Reid.

Santi isnt the first to dive and wont be the last sadly. Its an issue in football that does need to be eradicated and the authorities all around the footballing globe are ignoring it. Ill take a win any day of the week as beggars cant be choosers but it would be a nice extra to win without any ambiguity hanging over it leaving us open to the other vulchers in the media who are picking over our corpse at present.

Nevertheless However we got our first penalty does not take from the fact we deserved to win yesterday and should have won by more. Onwards and upwards from now on please god.

I agree Sadlier is an excellent pundit, a very ignorant post by the poster who called him a crap lower league player. Does he not realise Sadlier was forced to retire early in his career because of injury? Similarly can't understand this shock that, you know, a pundit may give out about Carzola diving??

Of course they will, it's a blight on the game. Great we won because of it, but somebody will probably win a penalty against us later in the year through diving. Pundits should shame divers as much as possible, after all if Wayne Rooney hadn't dived in 2004 we may have made it 50 games unbeaten.

What's the gap now? 3 points.

Even though Everton skipped us in the table it's nice to see the Spuds lose :)

Let's not forget Santi was fouled in the box in the second half and no pen was awarded. Fair play to him for making his own luck when faced with an incompetent referee. That's who should be receiving everyone's ire not Cazorla.

I don't think that's fair on the ref. They only get one look at the incident. No replays. No slow-mo. No alternative angles. Not to mention they only have acouple of seconds to make the call. Cazorla cheated to gain a penalty. Let's call a spade a spade here. What I do not condone is the uneven media coverage he's on the recieving end of in comparison to the likes of Bale, Rooney and Gerrard (of course the British media would have you believe it's only the dirty foreigners that do it - never one of their own).
It's fun/fashionable to have ago at Arsenal now because we've just come off a bad run of form which had us in an uncharacteristically low league position. Now that we've won a game they can't talk about our winless streak, so they want to focus on something else, something negative, so they focus on the dive and largely ignore arsenal's dominance in a match against a team that was, at kick off, a few places ahead of us in the league.

FWIW, I personally felt the penalty should have been given as Reid swung his leg at Cazorla with intent to foul. I also think Cazorla should have been booked for simulation.

Fair points, but for me this points for the need for video refereeing. If a player knows that his action will be found out on a video replay, he's much less likely to attempt it

    5 points off 3rd, that's where I'm aiming

Too right, there are too many diving merchants that ruin the game. Every team may have one or two, some more than others.

Yeah as a matter of fact any Irish soccer supporter with half a brain knows this about him , He was in that Millwall side that got to the FA Cup final against United as far as i know, No need to go on the attack against me , He was once thought of as the next big breakthrough talent with the Irish Squad, but with his injury problems never happened, Now back to his punditry

IN MY OPINION I don't think he#s a great pundit thats my opinion its not right or wrong same as you'res....I think he is very much a young mans Dunphy albeit more intelligent about the game as in he actually knows players where as giles and dunphy sometimes don't even know the players there argueing with, I just feel sometimes in his analasys is over controversial and seems to stick the boot in more than is needed,

Also like i said yesterday looks like Wenger is going to have a word with Cazorla after viewing the footage, I'd imagine he'll say well played son :)

Just put it on and head the commentator say someone came on for Campbell so obviously missed him. Was he up to much?

We've gotten away with murder so far to be so close to third with our performances this season. We need to take advantage of that bit of fortune this month.

Wasn't really paying much attention and missed most of it but he put in a great ball for an early chance, and got himself a yellow for a poor challenge.

alot of talk about huntelaar coming to arsenal.. i wont believe it till i see hi, holding an arsenal jersey but with 58 goals in 68 bundesliga games i think he would be a great signing

I seen that also alot of talk of Henry coming for the rest of the season

My guess is if Henry is coming for the season that means we can't get our main transfer target January

So weather that's BA or huntelaar, if Henry is coming for the season I don't think either of these will be coming

ye was thinking that myself hope its not true but its hard to be optimistic after being an arsenal fan the last 20 years.. ye get used to being let down in the transfer market apart from the few exceptions

Is Wenger bringing Henry back as much for what he can offer off the pitch as on it?
If that's the case, he's not showing much faith in his own staff.

I can see Henry being our future manager a bit like Guardiola became Barca manager after been a legendary player for his club!

In fairness he has 15 goals and 12 assists in 25 games. Poor league sure, but he still has it.
He needs to be one of 3/4 signings though.

That'd be class alright. A similar level of success as Pep had too wouldn't go amiss!
