    What's the point in doing that? Seems like an unnecessary expense to be making such an inconsequential change.

    a SIMI view that people will be quicker to buy cars in second six months of the year and spread sales over the year rather than just early in each year

    Car companies worried people won't buy cars due to the "unlucky" 13 reg no.
    and in the hope that the 132 redge will reduce the July drop in sales

    Does that really matter? Will increase the money going to the government or is it just a gimic because some people dont want a 13 reg?

    With effect from midnight tonight, excise duty on a pint of beer or cider is being increased by 10 cent, on a standard measure of spirits by 10 cent and on a 75 cl bottle of wine by €1, with pro-rata increases on other alcohol products.

    A car bought today is seen as another 12 reg i.e. just another one year old car in about 4 weeks.
