just to say...i don't like Lucas starting today.

    at all.

there shouldn't be any need, and he should, at most, be on the bench, or even rested until our European game.

    i don't like this.

    He is obviously fit though

Generally helps playing matches to get match fit.

Not starting games after such a long absence

If he didn't play the reserve game I'd agree but with that under his belt I'd count it as similar to a 30 minutes sub appearance. I also think this is great game for him to start, at home against fairly weak opposition who'll try and park the bus which will mean he shouldn't have a huge amount of work or ground to cover. Away at Udinese where we need to attack the team will be stretched and he'd need to do a lot more work.

    He is obviously fit though

he can't possibly be near 100% IMO.

his first game was a reserve game a week ago, of which he only played 60 minutes.

he may well be fit, but I'm uneasy with him going straight into the starting lineup after so long out in a game he should not be needed in.

i'm not beating Rodgers with a stick here, I'm just saying I don't really like it. I hope I'm very, very wrong. but when we rushed him back last time we all know what happened.

If Andy Carroll cost 35 million!! I wonder how the post and crossbar would cost? Maybe we can sign them for our defense as cover for Agger and Sktel :)

Exactly...in the current squad if we are desperate for a goal in the last few minutes Agger can play the role Carroll could.....with the added bonus of being able to use the ball at his feet.

Don't laugh but I'd play Ngoo against West Ham.

At least Suarez won't have to play Thursday-Sunday now.

    Gerrard CF vs WHU

7 poiints of 4th. Arsenal and Chelsea in dissaray. The Blue****e are 4 points ahead of us despite the great season their having. West Brom wont last the pace. Stoke, West Ham and Swansea arent good enough for 4th. We are only going to get better in January. Anybody else think 4th is between us and Spurs?

Lad would any of ye be available to play up front against West Ham?

Never felt so downbeat after a win before. Serious lack of quality in the side.

    No.

    We aren't good enough.

Most of our home games are "should-win" matches having already played 3 of the big guns at Anfield. We will probably dominate all and win most, but we will have a few 0-0s or 0-1s that will cost us.

Messy game but a win is a win. Great to see Lucas back too

No, we won't get fourth. It's between Arsenal and Spurs, and I reckon Spurs will take it, Arsenal are a poor side and probably have less depth than we do.

Serious lack of character in the side is more like it, I think.

The first half was controlled and we created plenty of chances and should have been at least 2 up.

Like against Reading, anxiety set in during the second half.

Rodgers just rang me there. I'm definitely in the squad but if I want to start I've to give him a blowie a day until saturday.

    7 poiints of 4th.

    7 points from relegation zone.
The Blue****e are 4 points ahead of us despite the great season their having.

Being only 4 points behind Everton is not cause for celebration
West Brom wont last the pace. Stoke, West Ham and Swansea arent good enough for 4th.

People said the same thing about Newcastle last year.
We are only going to get better in January.

    Not necessarily
Anybody else think 4th is between us and Spurs?

    Not even close

If we are in touch and can sign a decent striker in Jan, I think we can push for 4th. Two big if's though!!
