    yep

    Billy has sent out the following text message;
"We will have a stand in the Record Fair in the Marine Hotel in Dunlaoire Saturday 3rd & Sunday the 4th, spread the word. Thanks - Billy"

I presume its to sell off some of the remaining stock and there'll be a good few bargains to be had. As Billy said, if you know of any vinyl enthusiasts - spread the word! :)

Good news Billy Murray fans - he is now working in Beatfinder Records in Temple bar - above the FLIP clothes shop, beside central bank. I'll have that for you on Thursday bud....

Interesting, had a brief look in that shop a few months ago and didn't see anything of interest. Must drop in now again and say hello to Billy... still a few tunes he never got me from the early 90's, wonder how he's getting on with my list :pac:

The price of some of those records it that shop though, like no doubt back in the day,the place was a godsend, but in its last few years,it was too pricey, like selling records for 20 quid that were a euro on discogs

So its been just over a year since the shop we all loved closed down, someone on here just asked me for a link to this and it reminded me to ask:

Did anyone out there record Storm's live OB from the shop? Its the only radio special from that weekend I dont have. Any Mp3s would be very welcome, cheers smile.gif

always get nostalgic this time of year for aul Abbey Discs..
Buy a few tunes, into the dew for a pint and a read of the sleeves, then home with the lads knocking around after dinner for a couple of hours on the decks..

Saturdays used to be so easy!

    in contrast, this Saturday.

    Borrow van.
    Pick up carpet swords.
    Pick up bed in airside
    Pick up headboard in carrickmines
    Return van
    Paint spare bedroom
    Lay carpet
    Assemble bed

Dont see anytime there for getting lost in the tunes.. mumble mumble

wow. not sure what made me google this store, but I was visiting from America circa 1995 and stumbled into this record store. I have to say, of all the shops I hit in London and Ireland, this was THE spot. I walked out with so much vinyl. Tunes I missed over the years, tunes I never knew what they were called, and tunes I already had, but grabbed an extra copy for the price.

Really sad to see this store go. I wish I had made it back to visit one more time, but at least I can say I had the chance to walk through through those doors and take some precious gems back home.

Best of luck to the owner and all those involved with keeping the store running for so long
