Wisdom back after injury and has to shackle Bale. Poor bastard.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,365 ✭✭✭Crash Bang Wall

Wisdom is back. But I fear Bale will give him the run around so I would prefer Glen at RB.

i would probably go Downing LB and Enrique LW/LF what ever its called now.

No idea what he will do in MF, Gerrard doesnt have the legs but I dont think BR will drop/rest him

I thought he was out for 2 weeks?

Also, I assume this game is too early for Lucas? Possibly on the bench against Southampton I reckon.

Rodgers confirmed earlier that Wisdom is available for selection

    I'd play

    Reina

    Johnson
    Skrtel
    Agger
    Enrique

    Allen
    Henderson
    Gerrard

    Suso
    Sterling
    Suarez

If Wisdom is back then at least we will be spared Downing again.

Interesting to see if Suso or Enrique get the nod then.

I'd really like to see Assaidi come on in the second half against some more tired legs.

Downing should be left-back...............................left back in the team bus :pac:

He's a liability in defence and ineffective going forward.

I'd keep Enrique in his new LW Attacking Maestro role and stick Wisdom in at RB. It's a risk putting him up against Bale alright but less of a risk than having Downing on the pitch imho

Horrible news about the death of a young kid on LFC books :(.
Thoughts and prayers go out to his family. May he rest in peace. YNWA

Stephen passed away on Sunday evening following an incredibly brave battle with cancer.

The youngster, a huge Liverpool fan, made a big impression on everyone he encountered at the Academy due to his happy nature and willingness to learn.

Stephen was very highly thought of among the coaches and during his short time at the Academy, had demonstrated he possessed the skills to develop into a very talented young footballer.

Academy director Frank McParland said: "Everybody at the club has been deeply shocked and saddened by Stevie's passing.

"He was very highly thought of by everyone he came into contact with. He was a really happy kid and always had a smile on his face.

"Not only that, but Stevie was a really talented young footballer. He was the best athlete within his group and very speedy.

"Stevie is going to be really missed by everyone here and we'd all like to offer his family and friends our condolences."

Everybody at Liverpool Football Club is deeply saddened by the tragic news of Stephen's death and would like to offer our deepest sympathies to his family and friends at this time.

Wisdom facing Bale could be dodge, it could end up like the Everton game. Although it was a combined threat of Baines & Miralles that day.

Playing Johnson at RB might allow him to do damage going forward, if Bale doesn't track back to help Vertongen.

Have to say, I'm not confident about the Spurs game. Not sure we have enough offensive threat away from home. Also, Spurs have so many dangerous players, we'll be doing well to keep a clean sheet this time. That said, we owe them a beating, especially as they kept stealing our transfer targets this summer!

Agree with others who've suggested that Bale vs Wisdom could be a mismatch. Would be tempted to play 5 at the back for this game and try to hit Spurs on the counter.

Would also be tempted to rest Allen & Sterling who have looked a little tired recently. Keep them for the final 30 mins.

Am more worried about Dembele, if he plays, than Bale tbh. If our midfield is as generous at leaving big gaps as they have been of late, he could have a bloody field day coming through the centre.

4-5-1 for one game only. I'd take a horrid draw.

Who would make up your five and would it be a flat five or a staggered five across the centre?

    Wisdom---Skrtel--Agger--Johnson
    Gerrard-Hendo-Allen-Sahin-Enrique
    Suarez

Basically clog up the middle, protect Wisdom and hope for something down the left

Really hope we can get a results tomorrow. I have a deep-lying hatred for Tottenham that I cant explain. Typical small club syndrome fans, do reasonably well for a couple of seasons and they think they're Barcelona Mark 2.

Three points tomorrow could be one of the most important wins of the season. I feel a win over one of the top 5 could really give the squad a boost before a crucial run of fixtures

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,637 ✭✭✭✭Vicxas

We have a lot of "should wins" between now and january, winning or at least a draw in some would put us in a great position for the new year and a shot at the top 4.

They are anything but a small club in fairness..

Hate Spurs away. Would be very happy with a draw.

Spurs are clear favourites tomorrow night. A point there is a good result. A point at Swansea isn't terrible, but it is somewhere we should be expecting to have a good chance to win.

Great forward thinking by Rafa but also Borrell was spot on with his 2yr prediction before he would produce any first teamers.

    Long may it continue.

Not even in the squad for Villa's match tonight, apparently he stormed off when he found out.

    Offer 4-5 million for him.

  • Subscribers Posts: 32,872 ✭✭✭✭5starpool

No, please no. If Darren Bent is the extent of our ambition then we are settling for 6th at best.

Is he even worth that nowadays?

    What's his problem, anyway?
