    Watch today's game back.

We had Swansea pressed back for a lot of today's game and they struggled to do anything other than lob to our midfielders.

    The problems are:
    1) We aren't keeping it up for the whole game. That will come with experience and discipline.
    2) When the opposition do pass through us we have little protection for the defense.

    Agreed on both points

Anyone think we really need a good "one" behind the striker?

We need to get people closer to Suarez and the chase of Dempsey and Siggursddson would suggest Rodgers may think the same? For all his flaws this is something Shelvey does well and we miss him when he is not playing

At this point who knows. But we need options. When we make a sub we usually weaken the team.

    Hunntalar
    Walcott
    Bring Carrol back

...and we can dream about the likes of Lorente, cavani and the likes.

Carroll coming back would actually be the most likely thing to happen, I reckon. If we actually do get anyone new in January it will be someone cheap and it will be only one person.

I thought Reina was excellent today so hopefully it's a sign of things to come.

Possibly, we will not get value in January so the club may hold off.

If that is the case bring Carroll back aswell

Funny before the match 4 points from swansea and spurs was a decent return to most , we get one half of that prediction and suddenly the sky is falling in to some .

Not like we played that bad , sure we didn't score but we hit the target a hell of a lot more consistantly then we were earlier in the season , and yes i know thats what makes it even more frustrating to some but if you keep hitting them on target eventually you will score , hopefully against spurs.

Carroll is not coming back, get that into your heads! I really have no idea why anyone imagines he will return.

8 game beaten run in the league.

I just can't take that seriously.

Agreed, i can think of zero games this year that Carroll would have made a difference in

Carroll doesnt fit into BR's plans I assume. He'd just be deadweight on the bench

Unfortunately not. Are you in a coma now.:D

We have NO options up front. NONE

If we get someone on the cheap we still need cover.

We hit the bar and had a goal flagged offside, would have liked to see a better angle on another day it could have been given. Were alright people..

Borini will be back by January. I would give him a go to see what he can do than recall a guy who we all know is sh*t.

BR needs to man up on this. If we cannot replace Carroll in the near future, we need to use him.

I'm no fan of Carroll but we need options

Not being funny but I couldn't be arsed having this debate again.

In terms of goals Borini is not much better. We need strikers..

8 game beaten run in the league.

    3 wins and 5 draws

    14 from 24.

Not actually a bad haul when you look it tbh, considering from the first 5 games it was 2 from 15.

4 points from the next two games is needed. A point away at Spurs at least and a home win v Southampton. Obviously 6 would be fantastic but I'm being realistic with 4 and perhaps optimistic :o

Yawn at people trying to excuse our horrendous start.

At the start of the season everyone would have said the start we've subsequently gone on to have would have been unacceptable.

Rodgers performance simply has to improve dramatically & quickly or all his talk of long term visions and objectives will be for nothing.

Borini has had a handful of games in comparison, and spent most of them out of position. I'd have confidence in him matching Carroll's goal tally given a decent run...if not he can at least read the game unlike Carroll.

Borini will not be a 20 goal a season man.

Saurez is the man everyone should play around him - not the other way around

I don't want Carroll anywhere near this team tbh.

    So? neither is Carrol?

I think Borini will give us a greater goal threat from wide which is required, and will get closer to Suarez than our current options.

I am looking forward to him coming back

We have improved. We had a terrible first 5 games and have gotten better since.

There is no point talking to you about young players, new philosophy, rebuilding, long-term etc. You either don't get that or don't care. Fair enough

Double yawn and a stretch at Mr Alan coming in here only when he thinks he can have a pop.

Why, does it? We're know we're not going to be challenging for the league, we're definitely in transition/rebuilding mode.

He's also working with a small squad with inexperienced players.

It's clearly all going to take time and there will be pain along the way.
All this demanding results by internet posters is laughable to be honest

At the start of the season we all said, or at least the majority, that we expected to finish sixth. Anything higher, while not impossible, wasn't really realistic thinking.

We're not exactly far off what we expected are we?

You're missing the point. At the moment we have Saurez, that's it. Carroll would be an addition the bench.

We have improved? Not really IMO. Our best performance of the season was arguably against City, very early on.

Re:Young players/new philosophy etc, all well & good but that has to be done in conjunction with acceptable results in the league or it's worth nothing.

    Mike-you're boring. Quiet please.
