Costa Concordia for scrapping ?

    According to todays Irish Independent ( not the most reliable source I know ) the Costa Concordia is to raised at a cost of $300 million and towed to a nearby dockyard for scrapping.

    Surely she is repairable ? While no doubt a serious overhaul/refit would be called for , scrapping does seem a very radical thing on such a ' young ' vessel ?

    Is it really that severely damaged ?
