Hey, for picking a 2nds team do you have to remember what players play where. As I don't know the names of my good players off the top of my head. It's tough getting started.

I seem to have it in my head that if you play a team WNWIM you receive less in grame training than playing normal, and if you play LTNT you gain more in game training than if you played normal, but couldn't see anything about it in the notes.

Is that correct or did I just make that up?

Its been changed to depend on your opposition. if your front row is better then his, then your front row get less IGT. but if your locks are worse then his. then they will receive more. same applies to backrow, half backs, centres and back three.

Whole thing can be found here

In Game Training (IGT) is based on the quality of the opposition, not intensity, I think intensity affects experience gained

After a while you'll start to remember them, as you get decent youths or good players on the TM you'll start to remember every little thing about them. till then, if you use BRManager or one of those, it makes selection easier - one click of a button once youve set it up to get all your squad details in a nicely presented sheet, with colour codes to display pops and csr changes etc (csr change also indicates changes in form if updated regularly)

Are some players just inherently more responsive to training than others? I notice when training players, some CSR go up a small bit consistantly, and others have big jumps in CSR after each training session. Not sure if some get pops more often that others, but seems like some players respond better to training.

These are young players and of similar CSR where I'm noticing the changes in CSR after each training session also..

ya some are just lazy sods sadly, i have 2 guys of just about the same age, one only gets team training and gains around 800-1000 csr a week, and the other is on 4 team sessions and 10 level 4 sessions and only increases 1300-1500 a week

i think they slow down as they get older also, the younger the more they absorbe i guess

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,406 ✭✭✭Phonehead

Every player trains at the same speed but the higher the skill the more the CSR increase from training. Slowdown re age is hard to know! Once a skill reaches Monumental (18) it doesn't get any increase from Team training and IGT, some people including myself recently and without thinking assume that an older player is gaining less CSR due to age, however my player in question had Monumental in Handling, Stamina and Defence which means no IGT or team training for him. This week I changed my team training to slots where he is not monumental and I'm expecting his CSR increase in training to be higher than last week.... in 40 minutes I'll know.

In the squad lists, do the up and down arrow on the scrollbars work for everybody?

Never noticed it before because I either use a mouse or a trackpad, but the click of the arrows does nothing for me. Just wondering if it's the browser, the macbook or just some bad design by BR when they made it more mobile friendly.

Obviously leadership makes a difference for your captain, but would your team perform better if you had 15 players with impressive leadership compared to the same team with 14 players with non-existant and a captain with impressive?

How do you know which youth players are good enough for the first team??

First look at their physical attributes. If you need a prop, then promote the heavy guy. If you've no player heavy enough, then maybe go to the transfer markets for a bit.

You can also look at the match reports and see how many stars players are getting, you might have a great player with mediocre untrainables.

It's all match stats and stars really.

Oh, and if you're promoting people, the amount of stars you spent on them will be a decent indication usually.

Or if you have a youth manager, they'll give you a rough indication of how good a player is at various points, but, they're a bit pointless in my opinion.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 850 ✭✭✭seanand

you new so you havent used stars yet, so first if you dont have a youth manager you need to try and fix players to there position you think there in then match stars will help you decide if there any good. ill give a rough example of positions.
props (3) 170-194cm 110-130+ if you have any 130+ plus id say promote and put some stars on replacement*
    hookers (2) 165-190cm 100-130
    locks (3) 194-200+ 100+
    flankers (4) 175+ 95kg+
you mightnt seem to have that many of those position but after a few seasons you spot them easier. if you promote a guy that down his position somewhere and take note of his replacement.

the backs take harder to spot its more trial and error.

now i wouldnt bother putting stars on guys on less there untrainables are good i.e 200cm+ or 120kg+. because i doubt you have lvl3 ya yet so until you do have a lvl3 ya because you can easily buy 20kcsr+ guys for 10k and under now if you need trainees. of coarse you can ignore my advice and still have success with the ya but i prefer being safer

i think iv covered everything, feel free to mail me or write back if i dont make sense

What happens if I run out of money? :(

You're given a period to get back in the black, then it's game over.

How do I get back in the black? I can't sell some of my best players and I've cancelled all the advertising for jobs and all that that I think I can :(

What are your expenses and where does your income come from?

How much are you in the red? Cutting coaches training facilities and YA will save a chunk of money. Do it before 23:59 on monday night.

    And why can't you sell?

I went a bid mad before buying some good players :P

I have 54k, made a loss of 38k last week. I should be ok now, made some changes :) Thanks :)

Bear in mind that if you bought players this week your salary expenditure will increase.

Plus, if you're new to the game and in Div IV, you probably won't need any big superstar players just yet, so I hope you haven't bought some old guy with a lot of CSR.

Yes :o But he wasn't too deer.

Ah, but he'll probably be expensive when it comes to wages.

Every season (up til 10 I think?) you get a new minor sponsor. Each division has a different major sponsor. If you're in Div IV and new, you just can't afford more expensive players, but you really should need them to get by. Next season with an extra sponsor and more members, then upgrade. Rinse and repeat until things come full circle and you have to revolutionise to improve.

    One more q.

Does the league winner get automatically promoted or do they go into a playoff and how much do ya get for winning the league?

Div 4 is for the newbies and rubbish players is it?

Is div3 full of real managers then or is there bots too? And is going premium worth it? Seems a lot of money.

Promotion depends on your ranking points. You may get auto promotion.
Div4 is for newbies, rubbish players and those who are up and down from div3 and 4 every 2nd season(like myself at the mo)
No bots in div 3 that often.
Premium can be worth it at different times IMO. Jersey numbers, notification when player skills improve, training reports

Premium is the kind of thing you feel lost without once you don't have it. It's just really really handy, from saving line-ups to saving match replays, there's lots of cool handy stuff. €30 is a bit steep to pay at the start, but if you get really into it then it's well worth it. I kinda look at it as "that's a cheap night out on the town" but it lasts all year :)
