Converting a powerpoint to a movie format while keeping animations

Basically I've to do a group project in college and I've used powerpoint to make a kind of small movie where I've animated shapes to move them around to symbolise DNA replication in Prokaryotes.
I then go to "save as a movie..." because I want to upload it to youtube so i can embed it as a movie on the website where we're doing the project.

My problem is that when I save it as a movie the animations don't save aswell?
Its pretty frustrating as every powerpoint to movie convertor I've downloaded from the internet won't work..

Thanks in advance for any help!

Have you put timings on the animations or are they manually advanced?
