Has anyone got an actual APK for swype 1.3 beta ? Not the installer but the file that the installer downloads. I'm getting sick of going through the 25 steps to get it installed each time I reformat and it getting stuck at 95% downloaded.

That installed and set up perfectly, unfortunately the entire screen is taken up with just a few letters of the keyboard. I think it could be that I'm running Gingerbread and not ICS.

Every time I try to install via the beta installer the download goes less and less far to the extent that it now won't even go to 1%. Is there some download cache I can delete (apart from the one in clockwork recovery which I already tried) ?

Clear browser cache maybe? Probably won't help.

I think the apk might be phone/os specific. I'd send you mine, but i'm running jellybean so it's even less likely to work.

What phone do you need it for?

I got it to download eventually from home. It could be that the work server had cached the initial download, if that's possible. Either way, all sorted now, thanks.

I just got an update to Swype on my tablet. Finally it allows you to add words to the dictionary on a consistent basis.

You can now download the beta version without registering and logging in.
Plus, it now features a live, 'living language' dictionary.

Hallelujah! Would have been nice a month ago when I was testing about 12 ROMs in a week :)

Oh, how I know. I was in the same position.

That said, also give the new Swiftkey Flow Beta 2 a go.

Does that support landscape mode in tablets yet?

As far as I know it does, but don't quote me. I probably digested it somewhere online.

Yeah, I found the changelog on their blog earlier (and promptly lost it) and it confirms that flow works in landscape on tablets now but still not in search/address bars.

I restore Swype from Titanium Backup whenever I switch ROM and it works fine. No need to go through the whole register and download process again.

Not sure why I never thought of that...
