Dreading tomorrow as im expecting RVP to score and United to win...if i was offered a draw now id run a mile! Expect United to over run us and win comfortably or Arsenal to own the ball yet lose by a goal or two! Please prove me wrong nothing better than beating United (Spurs/Barca come close)

    Manchester United v Arsenal (12.45pm)
    Referee: M Dean
    Assistants: S Ledger, A Garratt
    Fourth Official: P Dowd

From the official Premier League site

Mike Dean ... means Rooney, Carrick & Scholes (if playing) will get away with murder ... watch & count how many ankle taps happen to Jack and Santi :( ... not a chance he'll take any action against Utd players until it's too late ...

Dowd will be more interested in getting Arsene into trouble than having anything to do with the game ...

Omens are not good - Webb, Clattenburg, Dean and Dowd are all painted with the same brush ... want to be bigger than the game

If we win it will have to be the performance of the season ... the longer it goes on the more likely a decision will go against us ... expect serial diver Young to be playing so good chance of a Utd penalty ... hard to be optimistic ... we might scrape a draw. I just think Utd's midfield will do a number on both Jack and Santi ... under orders from SAF

I agree with you but there is a difference between capability and actual performance though. Like you rightly mentioned, United has a shaky midfield and I will add a porous defence as well that some teams have already taken advantage of. However, their attack is far better than ours and most teams in the EPL.

I am just going by logic here, our goalkeeping and defense is very suspect and we dont have good finishers. We might 'possibly' outplay them in the midfield but how would we deal with the certain counter- attacks without them resulting into goals? By heavens, I pray we win and it is a possibility but I feel it is unlikely. I will be happy with a draw- that will be fantastic imo.

Giroud is a good finisher, he just needs a decent ball. That goal he scored against Reading was brilliant. One of the best headed goals I've seen for a while with his redirection of the ball.

Like you are saying I'm scared of their counter attacks. It has caught us out a lot of times. I still feel though if we have midfield controlled we can do something tomorrow. It'll be tough but offense is our best form of defense against United. Keep them thinking about our offense rather than our defense and maybe we can surprise people tomorrow.

Have we ever scored more than one goal in a game at Mould Trafford? If we win it'll probably be a 1-0. My dyed in the wool United supporting father in law is going to the game. Tried to wind me up earlier by telling me his team were about to play the most porous defence in the league. Had great pleasure pointing out the truth.

Come on Arsenal. We can do this.

Please Mr. Wenger do not play Ramsey on the wing. We will have most of the ball any ways with jack, Santi and arteta. Please play a winger.

The **** scoring against us is going to be as nauseating as it gets. Best be prepared and have your favourite poison on hand.

I'm the complete opposite, really expect Theo to play there today! I know he won't track back as much as Ramsey which is why Rambo may start but he gives us pace going forward. Think we need to be set up to hit United on the counter, Theo gives us this option Ramsey does not!

i wouldnt mind walcott starting either, esp now he is full of confidence but he did play the full 120 on tuesday. And wenger loves how ramsey keeps the ball

does Ramsey even do that much tracking back? He is way way to slow and moves the ball to slow to be playin on the wing.

I don't wanna be bashing him too much. I think he will be brilliant but not on the wing

I'd settle for a good performance I can be proud of, no matter what the result is. I just don't want to feel embarrassed tomorrow.

If we win because of an offside goal and United have 3 goals disallowed for no reason I'll be happpy. **** the performance.

Well the majority of the time workrate won't win you matches.no use running your heart out for 90 mins like a headless chicken.

He does more than that though, he keeps a level head in tight areas and holds onto the ball incredibly well. I like Ramsey in big games as you know more often than not he will do something to produce a goal opportunity.

I rather him coming on to do that though instead of seeing him start

obviously i always want arsenal to be winning, but i don't think he offers enough from the get go to the team lately, far rather chamberlain or walcott starting out wide

I lose so much confidence when Ramsey starts, just think he slows the whole thing down, ideal off the bench today.

Wud like to seeTheo start but doubt he will. Reckon Santos & Mannone will be the death of us today, fancy Giroud for a goal

I think Walcott coming off the bench is a more effective asset. Tired legs against Walcott can cause havoc.

Possibly and I think that's what will happen. Although a team like united shouldn't have tired legs in a 90 minute game having just had a week off! Ramsey just sucks the confidence out of me wud love him to prove me wrong today though

Walcott played 120 on tues and ox is injured who else could be put there in all fairness

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,713 ✭✭✭keano_afc

We'll have plenty of the ball, thats a poor United midfield. We should dominate that area.

Left hand side is a different animal. Podolski looks injured and Santos is a liability. we could bet murdered down there.

They will be tired from us passing the ball around them!! Their midfield is no match for ours!!

I would give my right leg for a win today

Really looking forward to this game. Hope we can get something from it. See you on the other side in a few hours. Come on Arsenal!!!

not when you're already winning & looking to keep ball

    if they were subs.
    getting beat/drawing = walcott
    keeping possession = ramsey

Not glad to see Ramsey starting on the right I have to say. Still though, thats a pretty sexy looking midfield three in the centre though :)

Doubt Jack will play the full 90, would expect Theo on at some point and Ramsey to move inside. Fingers crossed we get a result today, gotta be an optimist I suppose!

Theres no reason to be optimistic with Wenger in charge. We're Fergusons bitch, and we have been for 8 years. Whens the last time we even beat United? Wenger doesn't even seem to care about United anymore, he'll probably give them Wilshere next summer.

Can you at least wait until the game is over for this sort of thing?
