Allowing people to legally own hand guns (owing to a law from the EIGHTEENTH CENTURY) is fairly pathetic. A country where 'socialism' is a taboo word , is fairly pathetic.
What do you mean by cutting? Who on the UK stand up circuit is seeing people like Louis ck, Bill Burr or Jim Norton. Michael McIntyre? Guns don't kill people, people do. Socialism isn't a dirty word in the US. Have you ever met any Americans in real life?

Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Marvin Gaye, Otis Redding, The Temptations, Aretha Franklin, Dusty Springfield, and so on. None of them played instruments, but they're all incredible artists.

I'm not saying they're comparable to Rihanna and the likes, but just because they didn't play their own instruments or write their own songs, doesn't make them any less great.

And I would take from the names you mentioned, but Gaye for instance contributed to his output, the most recognised song he himself formalised was Sexual Healing.

This is probably my naked nostalgia but these acts were the real thing, they were part of the business. It's quite difficult to describe what is currently happening in the industry, as far as I'm concerned they've sailed it down the river with ugly personalities and attitude. To bring it back to Rihanna, she is a a bad tempered broad with limited talent, she doesn't deserve it....It used to mean something to have a number one.

I have no sympathy for fat people. If you're fat and you don't care, that's fine. But if you're fat and complain about it and don't do anything about it, then you need to shut up. Our society has created a 'quick fix' mentality, and nothing irritates me more than people who make excuses and shy away from putting in some honest effort to reach their goals.

I don't understand why people don't understand that people can pathologically overeat, much like people can pathologically eat very little, or overeat and purge. (All recognised mental issues)

Obviously, this isn't the case for all overweight people, but for lots, I would imagine. Why is it less acceptable and sympathised with as anorexia or bulimia? Oh right, because those don't offend people's eyes...

Lots of countries allow personal guns, and have much lower murder rates than the US.

I'd raise the religious question here, as you know, a lot of serial shooters said that God told them to do it. The gun and its availability is probably not the underlying problem.

It's high time all foreigners who are working in Ireland should go home if they don't plan on staying here and setting a family.
Give the Irish back their jobs.

    Harsh measures for harsh times.

Do you mean a tricolour? I'm assuming you're talking about taxis since we haven't yet reached 'crisis point' with the numbers of non national milkmen. You do realise that there's nothing stopping any non national cab driver going into Carrolls Irish souvenirs and getting one as well? Or do you have a quick look in the window at that stage? Who exactly are you doing your bit for?

Applying this logic to "foreigners" would mean that Irish emigrants would have to return to Ireland given that they are foreigners in other countries... So the perception that if all foreigners returned to their own countries would free up jobs in this country is an illusion, usually derived from narrow mindedness....

Go abroad my friend, see the world, open ur mind

*all nightclubs should have an entrance door no more than one foot wide

*parents giving their 3 year olds 'toddling lessons' in crowded areas or busy stairwells should be shot on site

*'you were walked over because allowed yourself to be walked over by your girlfriend/boyfriend'

*dangerous feral skangers should be exterminated (after craig doyle)

*committing suicide when you have kids is unacceptable & selfish

I cant stand women who talk about nothing but their children. No, its not a sign you love them, Its a sign you have absolutely NO life outside little Timmy or Ailsing and you want to let the world know that by going on and on and on about their little habits, their smiles, your daily routine etc etc. Shut up, nobody cares.

Brad Pitt's Chanel ad shows off his raw acting ability, and it also shows off what a useless actor he is.

    Overrated actor/man

    There's still ways around that.

For instance, don't buy junk food so that there won't be any in the house to eat if you do fall off the wagon.

Also, no eating disorder is preventing them from exercising.

If you're very overweight, exercise is a lot more tough.

As for the junk food thing, oh man, you don't understand eating disorders, do you?

Indeed, the only time this could be an issue is if your still living at home. Wasn't until i moved away from home that i could actually control my diet properly. Without a doubt, that was the biggest factor for me losing weight.

There are more fat people on the planet than there are starving people.

Used to be considered a sin (GLUTTONY).

    Again, the excuses.

Yes it's a lot more tough if you're overweight, that doesn't mean that it's impossible. If you're really committed to losing the weight then you'll be willing to go through some pain and discomfort. I used to be very out of shape too and I know others who were and we would all now agree that we just made excuses about it being hard, not being naturally athletic etc. Just take up a sport. Weightlifting is great for bigger guys/gals.

Don't understand which part: that they don't have the willpower to not buy the junk food? Or that if they really get a craving they will go out to Mc Donalds or order something in? I understand that, but I also think that a large extent of that is people being psychologically weak and falling back on it being a medical condition like anyone with an addiction does. There is still responsibility involved on the part of that person.

I'm not overweight and I exercise, so no excuses here. Who would I be excusing exactly? I am a former bulimic though.

The push to buy food to binge on was a compulsion for me, it didn't matter how later it was at night, if I wanted to binge, I would go out and find the food. I would later purge it. Binge-eating disorder is like this, but without the purging bit. It's a difficult mindset to extricate oneself from, it's almost obsessive-compulsive. It's hard to understand if you don't suffer from it. It's easy to understand why someone might get caught up in the binging side but pass on the purging bit. Making yourself throw up is unpleasant, as I well know, so many wouldn't be able to make themselves do it. You won't do enough exercise in a day to work off this massive excess of calories. And anorexia would be a no go for many people. I will always have bulimic tendencies, they are very hard to fight, but I'm coping well after receiving help.

Obviously there are overweight people who have no such malady but I'm convinced it's more common than people think.

And "psychologically weak"? Yeah, I think that's what they used to say about sufferers of depression. For fuuuuuck's sake.
