    Hi people,

I thought I'd set up a thread for people who are interested in Music Production & Recording Technique etc, to share ideas, ask eachother questions etc.

I have been producing from a home studio for a good while now, and I've worked with a few reasonably well known artists over the years. I largely work on producing my own artist work, but also produce and write for pitches through my publishers in the UK.

My set up contains a Mac Book Pro, with an extended monitor, a Mackie Blackbird Onyx I/O, Mackie Big Knob, Studio Spares SN10 Monitors, Adam A7X Monitors, Logic Pro 9, a midi keyboard, Nord Lead 2x Rack Version Synth, Korg M1 synth, a midi-mixing desk controller, about 4 different mics for different purposes, an outboard compressor, an amp for the SN10s, and more software synths and plugins than I can list here.

I've produced all sorts of different music, from country, to MoTown, to Hip Hop, to Pop, to Dance, Dubstep... pretty much anything.

Where I'm having particular difficulty at the moment is finding a really high quality vocal chain. I'm looking at a Brauner Valvet X with a Neve 8801 Channel Strip, as I'm starting to produce on a few projects for releases to market, so they need to be of the highest standard. If anyone has any advice, or if anyone has any questions on technique, hardware etc. Let me know.

    Cheers

    Mike
