    I've a friend who's into all this nonsense but he's also into conspiracy theories as well so it's not too surprising.

    I think people hear about this stuff from friends or the internet and without thinking about it critically, they accept it as plausible. It sounds cool and offers some advantages. It's like a piece of secret knowledge that no solicitor/barrister has ever thought of.

    Then they see it as a get-out-of-jail card when they've broken a law and appear before the courts. They think they've found the ultimate loophole. They're mental - mods, it's ok to call them mental. Judge Zaidan thinks so. (The judge advised psychiatric treatment for the defendant - I lolled)
    Ha, fantastic. It allays a sneaking suspicion I have that half the time the nuts get away with their nonsense because for minor transgressions they create an altogether out of proportion amount of work for the Gardai, and Thurles fines office etc.
