Will an email sent to the email address "joebloggs@email.com" be delivered to the email address "joebloggs@email.com.au" , same address just ending with .com.au ?
    Thanks.

No the email will get sent to the exact address you specify and only that address.

Joebloggs@email.com is a completely separate address to joebloggs@email.com.au

The computer actually reads the "email.com.au" backwards.

    Kinda like a letter with
    Joe B
    Some street
    Tralee
    Ireland

It start by narrowing it down to Ireland, then Tralee, then street and lastly name.

Bikos hit the nail on the head with a really easy explanation of a very complex process :pac:

I do believe that some systems will allow variation on the username eg. johnsmith@provider.com will work the same as john.smith@provider.com but it's entirely dependent on the provider. A different domain will not work unless the provider owns the different addresses and has them integrated eg. johnsmith@gmail.com is equivalent to johnsmith@googlemail.com.

Short answer - depends entirely on who your email provider is.
