I've tried a few data counters but they all ask me to set a limit. I don't have a limit, so I don't want this feature, but I'm forced to enter a make-up 5gb or whatever because the feature won't gtfo of my way!

So do you folks know of a good data usage monitor that will just tell me how much I'm using and which programs are causing it? Or at least one that has the option to disable the plan/limit?

    Thanks.

edit: I'd like it to be able to monitor data & wifi. Some of them monitor mobile data only.

Try "Data Counter Widget" pretty generic I know  but when I used to use it, it didn't need a limit.

Almost there! I also asked for one that can tell me which programs are using wifi/data.

Data counter widget doesn't have that feature...

3G Watchdog. You can configure the widget so it displays the amount of data used instead of displaying how much is left. You still have to set a limit though, but it shouldn't matter if you configure the widget as I described.

I thought it did too but i can't seem to find that menu option anymore (its quite early so maybe its just me)

Is the an option in your settings to look for data usage?

On the s3 there is an option for data usage and breaks it down by app.

There is also an app called Network Monitor https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=msd.n2g.n3g&feature=search_result

it has a fairly advanced breakdown of both what app uses what and also how long you are in 2g,3g, 4g (h+) and wifi
