You can find the football fixtures here http://www.clare.gaa.ie/senior-football-champ-1

In regards to the best place to keep up to date, here is usually very good of course, also clare.fm have a good sports section, anfearrua is also a very useful site.

I see AFR is closed as of today. Great forum for Clare followers, real pity.

I saw in the results that Killaloe beat Whitegate in the Senior B Relegation. Was that the relegation final or was it a play off to see who came bottom of one group to go into the relegation final ?

Either way, fair play to Killaloe for getting things back on track after shipping a heavy beating from Wolfe Tones.

Football champ gets under way this eve with Cratloe vs liscannor. the rest of the games this weekend..Dunbeg Vs Eire Og,Ennistymon Vs Kilrush, Cooraclare Vs barefield..Cratloe shoud account for liscannor given that the 5 u21s have finished celebrating (im sure they have these guys are serious about their football also)..Dunbeg vs Eire Og will be a dour affair as most if not all Dunbeg games tend to be .Hard one to call as will be low scoring defensive match. Looking forward to see this young Ennistymon outfit compete in serious champ game and i know alot of people fancy them the go all the way this year. Personally, i think its a bit early for this team to win outright.. but im sure they will give it a great run.. to win by 5 vs kilrush..Cooraclare Vs Barefield have met previously with cooraclare coming out on top... Stranger things have happened than this form being turned in its head, however given that both teams are operating (in my opinion)at a much lower level than several other club teams, i cant see too many people getting excited about this one.Cooraclare to edge it for me.(But hey wat do i know):(:(:( Any thoughts guys........................

Why is the Cratloe game on this evening and the rest of the games at the weekend? Was it so they'd have more time to prepare for the hurling quarter final the following week?

Cratloe game is being brought forward in case of a draw, there was a ruling a few years back that if a team is in both grades of a knock out competition that there would be 10 days of a gap to allow for a replay to take effect without impacting the 2 competitions.

Eire Og vs. Donbeg should be a great game, I've a feeling the Town will shade it but wouldn't be surprised if the Magpies won it either.

The Cratloe vs Liscannor game this evening is not brought forward, it is a last 16 game that was not played the same weekend as the other last 16 games because of the Cratloe players involved with the Clare U21 hurling team.

The winners of Cratloe vs Liscannor this evening will play Kilmurry Ibrickane in the last 8 (1/4 Final) on Sunday at 12pm. A draw this evening would obviously change that.

Cratloe win tonight by 2 points after extra time, will they eventually get the better of KIB on Sunday. KIB will presumably be without Paul O'Connor now (as well as the earlier losses of Michael Hogan, Stephen Moloney & Mark McCarthy). Fatigue could be an issue for the Cratloe lads with the dual stuff and U21 involvement. Winners of this game to win it out

Hurling quarter finals, Cratloe draw with Kilmaley, Inagh/Kilnamona beat Crusheen and will wait for the winners of the replay. Clonlara (beat the Mills) will play Newmarket (beat Tubber) in the other semi-final.

Personally I think it's a disgrace that we're still playing championship quarter finals in October, we're not going to find new players for the inter-county teams by playing now.

Considering we were beaten in the senior C'Ship way back we should be playing the county final this weekend.
I'm involved with a minor hurling team and we are playing 1/4 final this coming weekend. Madness.

Not much point in finishing the clare championship earlier and have the eventual champions idle for far too long before the munster club championship. I assume games were put on hold due to the U21's.

I don't agree with that unfortunately, Clare should concentrate on Clare first, if 1 team has to wait 2 months to play in the Munster championship, so be it, after all there was nearly a 3 month gap between championship rounds already.

Games were put on hold cause of the minor and under 21s as well as the footballers playing in the Munster final. It all comes down to bad planning really along with the resistance to allow inter-county players play with their clubs.

Playing a county final on the 28th of October is only a cod.

thanks! any deatils of when and where the clonlara and newmarket semi is on?

No idea yet, things might be delayed if Cratloe win their replay with Kilmaley, they'll have played big games 5 weeks in a row or something if they play next weekend.

Not much room for manoeuvre , the county final is down for the 28th and they'll have to leave the weekend before it free to accommodate the possibility of a semi final replay.
My hunch is that if Cratloe win tomorrow then they'll play the semi v Inamona on Sunday and the Clonlara v Newmarket semi will be on the Saturday.

There was a draw in the relegation play off in the football tomorrow, Cratloe Kilmaley replay is on at 4.30 in the park tomorrow, I might head over for a look, could be an "interesting" game.

    Final score of the replay.
    Cratloe 3-13 Kilmaley 1-9.

Cratloe led by 4 points or so at HT but then McInerney got his 2nd goal around the beginning of the second half and that's when Cratloe kinda broke away.
Cathal McInerney scoring a hattrick for Cratloe. Late goal by Colin Lynch for Kilmaley but then Cratloe got like 5 points without reply in the end.

Wonder what the craic will be so with the scheduling of the semis. Actually really looking forward to the newmarket/clonlara game.

Any results in the football lads? Since an fearrua has been shut down I've been lost.
