    Hi,

I have just imported some products from Asia and I have some questions regarding import VAT.

The product I was importing was Iphone and Ipad covers.

The total value of the products was listed as USD $ 61.72, which is including USD$ 15.12 in DHL shipping costs.

The DHL bill came to EURO 25.13. This was listed as Import Vat, there was no duty charged.

I am curious as to how this figure was calculated as it constitutes 69% of the total amount of the goods. Should it not be 23 %?

Also, at what amount does duty kick in and what should i expect to pay?

DHL service fee of €13.50+ vat @ 13.5%

Applicable on all shipments no matter who you ship with. Once shipment value goes over €650 you will need clearance agent and that will cost €50
