Intel Burn Test help

    Do you guys think intel burn test is a good way to measure a systems stability?. I have been running a 2500k @ 4.5 ghz with 1.375 vcore for almost a year now.
    I tested it prime stable for 24 hours at the time.

    Now I'm trying intel burn test and am shocked to see how much stress this can put on a system. It passes on standard and high but fails very high and maxium.

    It's much more stress than the system would realistically be put under in day to day use. If I drop back to 4.4 Ghz and slightly raise vcore I can pass intel burn test on maximum.

    What's the general consensus , is IBT on maximum an essential stability test?

    Its necessary if you desire great e-peen.

    IBT on short runs is great for snap testing of an OCd system you're changing constantly but once you've locked in desired settings a good 6-24 hour prime burn is still considered the best stress test for a system that's going to be used as an actual PC rather than just a testbench; IBT isn't really a very realistic test, as it effectively exploits weaknesses in the CPU core itself to try and force a fail condition.
