The door to nowhere here is particularly classy, something almost Alice In Wonderland surreal about it:

I was wondering if it was just me that thought that.

We could take a page out of Reddit's book and do an AMA (Ask Me Anything) for some one who has actually rented one of these rooms.

I'd like to make a request for an AMA, anyone who's sat in the Crying Seat, they can post pictures and even a video blog!

Its amazing how a small 2 ring electric hob translates to "Fully equipped kitchen".

I think the only qualification you need to be an estate agent is a certificate in creative writing.

    LET AGREED:eek:

Some of the photos are shocking. You'd think an estate agent who's job is taking pictures inside small rooms would buy a wide angle lens on a camera?

Seriously, are some of these not illegal???

Illegal is "cosy" in estate agents speak.

This thread has made me realise, and appreciate, that I live in a bright, airy, spacious, comfortable, homely, inviting and well equipped home. Without any crying chairs, or seriously grotty bathrooms.
I can't help but feel sorry for people who, for what ever reason, end up living in some of these places. Except of course for Raglan Rd., if you lived in that place I'd really like you, I would be your friend and visit all the time, bringing warm apple pie!

Yeah this has really cheered me up about still being stuck living with the folks.

Living with your folks isn't so bad. There's always someone to talk to and there's always the makings of a ham sandwich and a glass of milk or some leftovers in the fridge.

This thread has literally made my day, Im crying with laughter. Was looking at this place thinking, hmm this isn't too bad.

Crying chair oblligatory - if only because of the colour of the bathroom suite

But...but.. it's avocado. Very few of them around now for some reason. :D

Maybe the 2007 photos reflect the silly asking price on the apartment!

Thats got to be the worst one yet. The third picture "study/dining area". Its barely deep enough for the plate or the book that you'd be studying/dining with. And the armchair IN the bunkbed. Thats apalling. And they have a washer AND dryer!

And my mum actually did chew out an estate agent once... we viewed a place with an old cast iron bathtub that was corroding and a load of damp on the walls. We were told they would paint over the mould. She's not one to shy away from a good argument with an EA... and promptly tore strips off her! The EA responded by wishing her the best of luck and that she wont get anything in the area of that quality for that price.

Ended up getting a two bedroom one of these

    http://www.property.ie/new-homes/Fortfield-Square-Fortfield-Square-Terenure-Dublin-6/14422/

    for the same price :D

absolute **** hole, but I cant see the armchair under the bed though ??

    To be fair though:
This is a small room. Please look at the photos very closely. It is only the room for rent with the ensuite bathroom and the fridge/freezer and microwave oven. There is a shared kitchen downstairs with a electric hob for frying etc and with a bosch washing machine.

Have to admit, if I were a little strapped for cash I'd consider it... not the worst place I've seen on here. :pac:

If you speed through the pictures, you'll notice that the landlord took some photos in one fell swoop as he wasn't able to find any other standing position than the one he had.

Looks like an interrogation cell, complete with blinding tube lighting. I bet when you fold out the delux crying armchair, it unfolds right up to the wall into a crying bed, with hardly a hair's breadth for manouvering.

The bathroom must double as a kitchen.
