Got this in Tesco in Phibsborough today and it usually costs about €10 something but it was €12.15 or thereabouts today. Anywhere cheaper. Want to get about 10 of the Aptamil 1 boxes.

I've never seen Aptamil 1 or 2 going cheap.

Anecdotal evidence points towards a powerful boobie milk lobby preventing discounting formula for children under 6 months to promote the boob.

Originally thought this was sh1te but it seems to be reinforced when talking to some of the baby food manufacturers at the baby show in the RDS.

Wasn't allowed to use vouchers in Superquin a few months back on baby food for under 6 months and the manager said the same thing.

Again same thing in Boots where the will not allow discounts on the stuff.

Boobie brigade is costing me a fortune:D

Aptimil 1 will be more or less the same price everywhere.
They are not allowed do special offers on it.

It used to be twice the price down here as it was up north but I think it is the same now.

Yes, there's some (EU?) law that doesn't allow offers/discount/promotion of infant milk (<6 months). Last time I checked (=a while a ago) it was slightly cheaper in boots than the supermarkets...

Not any more... About 3 months ago boots upped their prices to be exactly the same as everyone else.

asked in boots why they don't do a 3 for 2 offer on it and they confirmed its due to EU regulations and breastfeeding. 11.69 in boots and 12:15 in dunnes and tesco. not sure about superquinn.

i'm looking for Aptamil 1. as previously mentioned my another poster, they don't do the milk that's for babies under 6 months cheap so as to promote breastfeeding. My wife was breastfeeding but she was knackered as she'd breastfed last baby for a year and well into this pregnancy so she was mentally drained.

Sorry it's probably too far but I buy aptamil 1 for 10.69 in super savers. They have shops in the midlands, Mullingar, Cavan, Roscommon, Longford etc. I noticed the price in the supermarket jumped up recently ... Better start weaning bub!

Same price is most places, €13.50 for aptimal 1. If you know anyone working for Danone they can get aptimal 2 onwards for €5 a tub.
Aldi own brand in meant to be very similar to aptimal and €10 a tub
