I want to attach a 4 foot length of pressure treated 3 x 2 wood to a garden wall.

Can express/compress nails be used for outdoor/external wall applications??

Or would they just rust and break after a little while out in the open air?

    Thanks.:)

I used them on a garden gate/door frame over 10 years ago, no sign of rust or weakness.

But you can get concrete screw they have a hex head in top and these I do know would be ok and solid.

I used them to attached the first 3x3 fence post to a wall about 5 years ago and to be honest its probably the only original part of the fence that's still standing :D

If you ever run out of express fixings then you can use 2 6" nails in the one hole to do the same thing, although they will rust;)
