Carlow live music

Hey I'm moving down to Carlow next week and wonder if there is any really good live music venues in the town?? And is there any good bands or cover bands playing soon?

Teach Dolmain have a different band every Fri night (& Thurs I think). Quality varies and it's often too loud.

The very good After Dark play The Barracks every Sun night.

The Tower night club in the Dinn Rí is a live music venue.

used to be some great original bands like fight like apes, ham sandwich, giveamanakick, windings etc playing in the underground years back, but its mainly just cover bands these days. the tavern has the odd interesting gig.
