Yes of course I am wrong! Meanwhile have you ever actually talked to someone who has voted for the GOP, they don't all fit into nice little boxes that are easy to demonize against so we understand the reasons why people dont think like us. Make the world very black and white so out little heads can comprehend whats going on.

Am I saying that there are people who do not fit the stereo type, no of course not. But is the stereotype the norm, of course not.

If it were true then black people are lazy welfare scroungers, Irish people are trouble makers and drunks, gays want to sexually assault children and Jews are trying to take over the world. Stereo types is the height of laziness in any discussion including here.

Is Ryan going to lie his way through the campaign? His RNC speech was littered with mistruths and he tries to pin a factory closure on Obama that happened in 2008.

Is he just trying to swamp fact-checkers and draw attention away from Romney?

You might do better checking Ryan's voting record.

    "Obama cuts 716 billion" boo!
Paul Ryan's budget keeps the billions of dollars of cuts in Obamacare — the only part of the health-care law he doesn't want to repeal. Obama cut $716 billion from Medicare, but there is little in "cuts" to beneficiaries. The cuts come largely from how much the program pays to providers.

Lie. Lie. Half-truth. We built that. Lie. Lie. Is this gonna be Ryan's strategy?

Great selection for Veep, half-assed economic plan and no integrity.

Someone was making some jibe last night at Biden last night 'He almost thought about coming to Tampa to take notes on how to be a Vice President' - durp.

What's really the problem with Biden? The honesty-gaffs? :p

Still doesn't address any of the issues I listed above. You can plug in any speech obama makes and find just as many if not more untruths. What really matters is Obama is a failed president, has no record to defend and offers nothing new except more socialism to the majority of Americans that don't want it.

And you're still running the lies that Ryan so transparently told. Why is that?

But since it apparently escaped your notice, this thread isn't about Obama, it's about Paul Ryan and those aforementioned lies.

And 'socialism'? LOL, really? I don't think that word means what you think it means.

Any other talking points you'd like to toss out there?

Wow, not even an attempt to defend Ryan lying his head off.

I can see what Romney sees in him now, someone to tell the porkies that Romney cannot because he can be seen actually lying as a good Mormon.

Ryan is shaping up to be the pants-on-fire Veep in the same way Quayle was the stupid Veep.

It's all about firing Obama and Ryan has the left scared.

Socialism-please enlighten me with your version of this wonderful form of government that is working so well in Europe.

8% unemployment, 15 trillion in debt, half the country on government assistance, highest corporate tax rate in the world are just a few facts. You can call them talking points.

I have to say you were very close on those few points there UNI4MER.

I see KMPG has a table of corporation tax available on it's website. It placed the UAE (United Arab Emirates) as the highest corporate tax in the world at a rate of 55%. The US corporate rate consistently remains at 40%.

The U.S. unemployment rate in July had remained at a seasonally adjusted figure of 374,000, at a rate of 8.3%. That rate is up from 8.2% in June.

The national debt is around $15 trillion, whatever you want to look at it.

No, it's about your refusing to face up the lies Ryan told and will likely continue to tell.

Socialism-please enlighten me with your version of this wonderful form of government that is working so well in Europe.

Again: you clearly either don't understand what socialism is, or what Obama has actually done, or you wouldn't be conflating the two.

8% unemployment, 15 trillion in debt, half the country on government assistance, highest corporate tax rate in the world are just a few facts. You can call them talking points.

Again: this is about the lies that Ryan told.

Why are you so desperately afraid of addressing them?

And what, just anybody will do? I've heard this before. "anybody but Bush" "anybody but Obama"

Tell me something my good beanstalk, how feel you about the choice we made for our Not-Bush election? Good? Bad?

If its all about firing Obama I'd surely rather we installed Ron Paul myself. But at the end of the day it's not about firing Obama it's about what presidential election has always been about: electing someone to be the most influential human being on the planet for the next Four Years.

    Uh-oh. Paul Ryan is rapidly becoming know as a bullshìtter. Now the internet is checking most of what he has said. Like this for instance;
PR: Yeah, I hurt a disc in my back, so I don’t run marathons anymore. I just run ten miles or yes.
HH: But you did run marathons at some point?
PR: Yeah, but I can’t do it anymore, because my back is just not that great.
HH: I’ve just gotta ask, what’s your personal best?
PR: Under three, high twos. I had a two hour and fifty-something.
    {source}

That is a phenomenal time. The National record is 2.05 and the women's record 2.19.

Thing is there appears to be no record of Paul Ryan logging such time.

It is increasingly clear that Paul Ryan is simply full of shit.

    http://news.runnersworld.com/2012/08/31/paul-ryan-says-hes-run-sub-300-marathon/?cm_mmc=Twitter-_-RunnersWorld-_-Content-News-_-PaulRyanSub3

We have some new information on Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan's claim in a radio interview of a sub-3:00 marathon.

A spokesman for the Romney-Ryan campaign e-mailed Runner's World today to say Ryan ran Grandma's Marathon in Duluth, Minnesota, while a college student in 1991.

When asked about Ryan’s finishing time, the spokesman said, "His comments on the [radio] show were the best of his recollection."

Ryan's name does not show up in the 1991 race results provided by Grandma's. Runner's World checked 11 years of results for Grandma's Marathon, from 1988 through 1998, and found a finisher in the 1990 race by the name of Paul D. Ryan, 20, of Minneapolis.

Ryan's middle name is Davis, and he was 20 in 1990. The finishing time listed was 4 hours, 1 minute and 25 seconds.

We are awaiting confirmation from the Ryan camp that the vice presidential nominee is the Paul D. Ryan listed in the race results – and, if he is, whether he ran any other marathons faster than 4:01:25.

Any doubt now about the moral character of this man?

Let's see, VP candidate says last week "oh I run a 2.50-ish marathon", running community says "Holy **** that's fast," and then discovers that he lied. Got to really question the judgement that says hmm I'll tell a lie, no-one will ever check.

Running a sub-3hr marathon is a very elite club. You don't just forget that time.

Because the context is grayer than that?

For one, the republicans want to entirely dismantle any kind of welfare/social support that's currently available. Look at Paul Ryan's budget plan as an example. GOP lies on the same notwithstanding.

As for Wall Street. Obama has introduced and continues to advocate for greater regulation of the financial markets. While, despite the lack of such regulation being the principle cause of the recent financial chaos that has affected countless families not just in America but all over the world, the GOP fought him tooth and nail over every single piece of oversight/regulation and want to deregulate further. 'Government should get out of the way of business,' so to speak.

Obama is also one of the few heavy weight politicians to speak out against the influence of money in democratic elections with his call against Super Pacs. Unfortunately, vested interests once more stopped him from being able to do anything about it. So he was put in a position that he either use the super pacs or gets trounced by Romney due to not being able to match his financial campaign.

Lastly, while I don't feel Obamacare goes far enough, the frothing at the mouth of the GOP about it shows me just what an accomplishment it was to even get THAT done. In the current political climate in the US I think socialists will accept a centrist president over the very hairy alternative of what the GOP want to do in terms of their policies that are designed solely to benefit the rich.

Analyse every utterance from the GOP and make it out to be the thing that will decided the election, and appluad everything from the Dems.

Expect a lot less scrutiny of speeches from the DNC around here

Paul Ryan is far more intelligent than his counterpart.

Remember Biden is unable to count or spell, not sure which, he said there was three letters in the word 'jobs'.

Thankfully a Democrat said that and not a Republican...

Lesser of 2 evils. Some of his policies are a step in the right direction; dream act, affordable healthcare; strengthening the EPA.

An RTE presenter admitted their is a bias towards the Democrats in Irish media, shock as if we didn't know.

The local media might be more Republican leaning this time given Paul Ryan has his Irish connections in Kilkenny.

We are discussing Ryan. A man who would lie about his marathon time, it was him that came to that. Ryan said he ran a sub 3 hour. That's not fisherman's tall stories, that speaks to his ethics.

His RNC speech was littered with plain barefaced lies. Not one supporter here has addressed that.
